So after an hour of keyword research i stumbled upon a domain name that gets 15k searches a month.
The exact keyword (3 words) is available as a domain and i was wondering if this could be profitable?

Could this domain name rank number 1 on google for it's keyword very quickly?
I noticed PR 0 websites with less than 200 backlinks sometimes ranked number 1 for a competitive keyword just because it had the whole keywords in the domain name.

So could this domain name get ranked number 1 for it's keywords without much work or do i still need to do a lot of SEO'ing??

.
15 thousand searches for what?

Was it an expired domain with pre-existing traffic?

Probably SEOing .....

Try it out .....

HTH .... :cool2:

15k searches for the keyword and i'm planning to buy the domain with the keywords in it.

The keywords are product related.

For example, if this keyword gets 15k searches a month: "black 5mp camera"
I want to buy the domain name: www.black5mpcamera.com

Would this rank number 1 for its longtail keyword easily or not?

The url carries a heavy weight, buy it first. With like one or two backlinks you can rank number 1 in a day.

Ok i'm going to buy the domain right now.

Any additional information??

Yea, here's something to consider as well: has this domain been penalized before by google? What kind of site does archive.org show of it in the past? Spammy, legit? Google the domain name and see what kind of history is centered around the domain name.

Also, consider the competitors in that market space. Does amazon and other big retail sites own it? If so, you may have a hard time ranking well for it.

Just somethings to consider.

archive.org doesn't show anything.
I've searched for any backlinks of the domain and nothing showed up.

ebay ranks for the 9th place for this longtail keyword, the rest of the websites are unfamiliar to me.

Anyway, i've bought the domain and i'll update this thread to show how it went for those who are interested.

How many sites are you competing against? (With quotes and allinanchor:"")
Any of the sites in top 10 authority sites?
Did they have all of the keywords in title?
Any article directories ranked in top 10?

I have a question. I think I found a gold mine in the cell phone niche.
The funny thing is that a site with just one article is ranking in the first 10.
Another thingis that the site uses kinda some of part of the search keywords in the url.
I created a blogspot blog with the same keywords in the url.
Will I be able to rank #1 with a couple of articles bearing in mind that blogger blogs are always ranked extremely well.
Btw the searches are in the 100k monthly LOL

No one can answer you that. Just go all out and try to get your blog in the top ten. Build enough quality backlinks and you SHOULD be able to beat that site with one article.

Its like $8..buy it already.

Get it from something like Dynadot..if you change your mind, you can delete it and get some of your money back

Yes totally agree...

buy it! i feel in my back the problem of having bought a domain without the keyword i wanted to optimise. Two other domains with just 1/10 of backlinks are still over me for one month and i can't pass them.

You can try! I bought the domain name cubefieldgame.info and my main keyword is cubefield. I'm ranked 13 for cubefield (I currently get 600/uniques a day, number one would bring like 10k uniques a day or more!) and my lowest ranked longtailed is cubefield full screen rank 6 which brings in under 50 uniques a day.

Try SENuke - take 20 dollars, go to humanspinner.com, find an article anywhere that has 400-600 words that contains your keyword. Buy spinnable sentence rewrites from humanspinner as many as you can (between 4-8 unique spinnablesentences should suffice) now make 1 account for each article directory and social booking place. Submit the article and social bookmark. Ping everything. Now a few days later create a new account for each site and resubmit the articles, social bookmark and ping. Since you bought so many spinnable sentences, you should make accounts, submit and ping every three days with new accounts and if possible ip addresses. Your rank will soar!

Good luck!

Thanks, i'll definitely try that.

Edit: And how much money do/should you earn with 600 uniques a day?

So i'm planning to implement some kind of Amazon script into the domain i bought, but if i did that, wouldn't i get slapped for having duplicate content??

Hello,i have the same thing like you.
Here is what is happen to me:
Bought new domain.
I build my site (using content from amzon)
My site got indexed with 2 days.
3rd day i was in first place beating amazon, overstock and ebay.
forth day ,i can't find my site anywhere in google.
5th &6 day,i build some backlinks,i build about 100 backlinks in 2 days (very bad,don't do it)
my site come back after 5 days,in 3 place google, stay there about 3 days (got 1 sale from amazon,i will use ebay but i am not approved yet)
Now (3 days) my site has disrepair again from google

My advice for you:Don't build more than 5 backlinks per day for new domains. If you need only 20-30 backlinks to get ranked #1 build 1 backlink every 2 days.
Hope it help.
P.S Sorry for my poor English.
P.S.S Google don't penalize websites for duplicate content (only if you have duplicate content in your page)if you have more backlinks, you will win.

OK i'll keep that in mind, thanks a lot!

The reason i would have duplicate content is if i build an amazon store i would get the exact same information and products as in Amazon.com, so i'm assuming that would be seen as duplicate.

Mirrorer, did you use a blog for your website?

First of all you have to understand that your positions on search results depend on not just one but many factors like domain name, domain age, on page seo (tags, keywords, CONTENT), quantity and quality of backlinks and anchor text too !

To give you an idea, do a google search for the keywords "click here" (with or without quotes) and you'll see that the top two results are from Adobe.com - I am myself not sure why, but I think its the fact that no other website has more backlinks with the anchor text "click here" - strange but thats how Google works. You also have to do a good analysis of the competition which mainly is the other page1 rankers.

Now if you are asking whether just the domain name and some average on page seo and a few links from bookmarking sites will do the trick, then no one can tell. This is something you will learn only with experience. You might get to no.1 with strong focus on one of the above mentioned factors or with a little bit of focus on all of those. Hope this helps.

Yes i know and you probably got that Adobe example from the Stompernet course :p

It's just that i've seen domains(keyword in the domain name) with no backlinks and 0 PR beat sites that do have a lot of backlinks. That's why i was asking.
