Dropshipping Customers Complaining

You missunderstand thats not ad spend thats profit. Lets say you choose a high ticket product that has a profit of $100 and you want to make your $30k you need 300 people to register. Not all will end up buying so say increase to 500 people. So phase 1 is get interested users. Phase 2 offer product to them for say 1 week. Then walk off.

Your bringing in small sales a bit at a time, thats not how you build a burn site, but how you build up a long term site.

Here's the thing, I have a product/niche that is giving me a good return on ad spending, and I plan on making as much money with it as possible.
I'm going to scale as quickly as I can, but the model your are explaining to me is not feasible with my product/niche.

Why not do an after purchase upsell of expedited delivery.

"Can't wait for you your product?
Get it quicker with 5 day delivery for just and extra $5"

If you are good with coding you can link the delivery day and say get it by Friday etc.

You can also earn a little bit extra with this upsell

@SocialFire gave me the idea to offer expedited delivery for an extra $3 in checkout. I've just added this option to my store, so I'll see how it goes.
Of course, this may cause some people who purchase expedited shipping to be upset that their package still takes 3-4 weeks to arrive even after paying extra for shipping, but hey, nothing to be done about that.

Thats my point you have the wrong product for a churn and burn site. You have set up as a long term site. For a burn site you should be picking high ticket items with huge roi on ad spend.

Do the math a 2x roi means you will have to spend $30k on ads to make $30k. At your current rate thats going to take you years and is not churn and burn.

Why would it take that long, surely the idea is to then use epacket and get in a week or so

Why will it take me years? I can easily double my ad budget every few days, and should be able to make 30k relatively quickly.

Hey it is upto you. But burn sites work best with high ticket items and a few customers, not longer term and scaling an ad budget with lots of customers over time. With just a tiny bit of scaling your hitting problems with fufillment imagine what it will be when you have spent $15k on ads and have a few thousand customers?

You asked how burn sites work. But your running it as a long term project, at a small profit. For something with such a small ad roi your best using amazon then you have $0 ad spend. But it doesnt work as a burn site.

This is churn and burn, I'm not expecting any repeat business.

You're gonna churn and burn your paypal account really fast. It's shopping season shipping will be slow. Even epacket. Slow it down and start mid-late january again full throttle. Shipping times will be better ... also raise price and send epacket you cheap f**k.

If i were you i'd code the a solution for this problem. A basic (extremely rudimentary form of A.I). where you would provide certain key words, your code would parse through raw email text and if it encounters one of your keywords then it would generate an pre-defined response and shoot an email to the customer in question. It would be very easy to code such a solution, the thing is that it would take quite a bit of time to train the A.I to work properly (collect enough keywords and generate responses for each case) but in the longrun it would be well worth it.
Gd Luck

I do appreciate the advice, I just feel that what you are saying does not have anything to do with my current situation, or my store. It's definitely something to think about, though,

This is the type of information I'm looking for. How many disputes, etc. do you reckon it takes before I run into serious issues with PayPal? I'm looking to avoid this, but am interested in knowing the limits of these things as well.
Yes, I know that I'm being a cheap fuck, but increasing the cost of shipping has had a big, negative effect on my conversions.

Good idea

A burn site is designed from the outset to make a large amount of money in a very short space of time, typically by exploiting something that will be short lived.

You have not designed your site like that. You built it as a regular store with drippy drippy sales and you want to scale it. Then you have realised that you cannot be bothered managing a proper store so after you make $30,000 you want to close it. That is not a burn site. That is just a regular store with regular issues that you got bored of. You won't be able to turn it into a burn site. All you can do is run it as a regular site and then close it down when you hit your target.

If you are more interested in building a burn site, you should start again and design it as such form the outset, with a high ticket item as it will be quicker to get to your $30,000.

So your choice is accept you haven't got a burn site and run it as a proper store or go and build a proper burn site. There is no hybrid solution.

Totally agree with that,

I did have run an store years ago, i got bored of customers, the idea was to make easy bucks at the end you are running a real bussiness with real headaches.

So to come back to your bussinees idea, sell your store once you have enought and you are fed up of ur customers, you may get 5x your average income per month at least, may i be wrong as i did not get to sale mines, it was my baby.

Answering your questions : how to deal with paypal.... you have all the chances to loose, no tracking ( if a paypal moderator comes into play and you tell him there is no tracking... men ur F..c) so try to be honest with buyers as you wish a seller to treat you, so you never enter in a loop of a dispute, happy customers are key, other ideas as offerring better shipping for extra bucks covers your ass as will do a section of Q/A and policies.

this is a very good start, this has more value than what you can loose, experience is the beggining of prosperity, god job and continue this way OP.

Again, it's not relevant to my current situation. After over a year of trying and failing at different online schemes, I have found something that appears profitable. I am able to achieve a good ROAS, and should be able to hit my earning goal, and then "Burn" the site. I'm not going to abandon this just because it doesn't technically fit the definition of what you think a "Burn" site "Should" be.
I do appreciate the advice you've given, but again, I'm not going to abandon my current site.

Thank you, thank you! That's what I figured.
I'm already offering a second option for "Expedited Shipping" (which has the added benefit of making my "Standard Shipping" appear cheaper by comparison).
I've already processed over 300 orders, and only just had my first paypal dispute (I refunded him immediately). I have the entire thing framed as me doing THEM a favor, so with the aid of a couple of well timed autoresponder emails, people are generally not too upset.
As long as I avoid disputes at all costs, and then refund all disputes immediately, do you think that this will protect me?
Also, Stripe technically does not allow drop shipping, do you think that chargebacks/disputes here will be problematic/likely as well? It seems like a pain in the ass to contact your bank to reverse a payment, so I don't think many people will do it over $12.

I really appreciate your advice!

You asked for advice, and the advice you received you didn't like. You need to rethink your strategy, regroup, and come back with another higher ticket item that has a larger margin of profit. Your profit is too low and this method isn't really sustainable to even scale to the amount you want to hit before burning the damn thing.

You're going to get flagged for manual review and have your paypal account terminated - relaunch and try again with a product that has a larger margin of profit.

I have a solution for you: Start making a serious business/e-commerce website and have even higher margins, much faster shipping (coming from your house, warehouse) and also happy costumers. There are so many solutions out there.

If you don't want to use ePacket, because it would lower your margin, then its ridiculous to complain about a long shipping time with the standard shipping.
Lower your margins and use ePacket to lower the shipping time (its still high imo) or higher the prices and use ePacket.

Otherwise: Contact the seller. Tell them you are dropshipping and you will get many orders. Ask them if they could give you an discount for the shipping etc. Be gentle.

EDIT: Just saw he just wants to burn his shop. What a pity.

Of course what i am saying is relevent to your situation. It is not my definition of a burn site thats what a burn site is.

You have built a proper store so unless you run it like a proper store you will continue to have problems. There is no short cut solution. All stores have the same issue when you come to scalling you really need to buy in bulk and have your own warehouse to fix the issue, i would use an amazon store and fba. If you cannot be bothered doing that your problems will just increase as you scale. If you keep breaching terms and getting complaints then ultimately your account will get closed, before you get to $30k profit.

But if you fix it you would be a fool to put all that effort in and then close it.

If you dont want the problems and you dont want to fix them, then all you can do is close it down. You are deluding yourself otherwise.

Then take what you learnt and use it to achieve what you want and build a proper burn site with a high ticket item.

As the previous post said regrouping will get you where you want a lot quicker with a lot less hassle or fix it and accept you have a proper store

I have something that's working, so I am going to take it and run with it. I understand that there will be hassle/unhappy customers. I'm not asking how to eliminate this problem entirely (because it cannot be eliminated with what I'm doing), I'm asking how to minimize the actual harm that may come from this.
For example how likely is it that I will have problems with Paypal/Stripe as long I'm proactive in my explanations/apologies, and I refund everyone who wants it? The way I see it, it's unlikely.
Of course, if you or anyone else has any relevant experience or factual information regarding this that goes beyond "This won't work your PayPal will get suspended, ditch the whole thing", I do want to hear it. That's why I started this thread.

Anyway, I don't care if you call my website a "Churn and burn", a "Proper store" (which it definitely isn't lol), or a "Grilled cheese sandwich". At the end of the day, I want to make a good chunk of cash in a short time, and I see a path towards doing that with my current website. Call it what you want.

You can tell me again that you think I should ditch my store and make something that resembles your idea of what a churn and burn site "should" look like, but unless you bring any new information to the table regarding the actual likelihood of having issues with my PayPal (or how to avoid them), I don't see what it would contribute to the discussion.

Paypal has quality controls, too many refunds and they freeze your account. Stripe does not let you dropship. If they find out they will close the account.

Your not actually reading what people are writing.

Keep the store but fix the issues which means buying in bulk and sorting a warehouse. Thats a lot of work, so you would be silly to fix them and then close down.

Or

Dont fix the issues, complaints will scale and your accounts will be closed.

Or

Ditch the store and build a high ticket burn site.

As long as I avoid disputes at all costs, and then refund all disputes immediately, do you think that this will protect me?

As for my experience, yes. Paypal does not take action till a moderator enters into play, this way they release work load on their human stuff and so money at the end.

As soon as you refund buyer your trust and your history in paypal increases as trusty seller.

Now the problem i faced once was, many "smart buyers" buying and asking for a refund for the same product. So is to say, be cautious with friends of this refunded buyer, if he is honest, no problem but if is one of those who publishes what have happened or is a competitor man you will have a hard time.

But do not worry about this, it is very rare, just focus on this : "check if your return rate is above 3%", if so, quit the product for a while or offer just signed shipping.

As for paypal, you are on the right track.
As for your store i would say same.
