This one is a lot easier than you would think.

It's really just a matter of using the magnetic lasso tool, feathering, and Gaussian blurs over the hand and sleeve

From there, I just do the usual to make the hat look like it was originally part of the image within a reasonable amount of time.

I'm impressed that looks like it belongs. Appreciated.

I had to move your wolf over a bit to the left, otherwise the hat would've overlapped with the "L".

Dude, do you know how long it would take to put a hat on your gif?

I would have to separate the gif into individual pictures, position the Santa hat on every single picture, and then recombine the image back into a gif. There are 77 frames in your gif, and I could get away with leaving out the hat on 12 of those. I'd estimate that it would take me a good hour to do sloppily.
