I have some bad news (E*P*N* related)

I have been successfully using my cookie stuffing method to earn good money from affiliate networks without any issues. I do come here to the boards a lot but I am pretty quiet when it comes to starting a new thread but I feel that if I didn't, well I would not be giving back to the community that helps me make on average $150-$300 a day.

As of April 1st many of you signed up for a new partner network (you know what I'm taking about) and so have I but I have not been using it. The reason why is because they have a real sneaky way of determining if you have been stuffing cookies and let me explain how.

For those that currently display banners on your website please open your browsers and mouse over your banner. If you take real close notice to the url that is displayed (if its Flash you won't see it) you will notice that it changes. The change depends on what part the banner you mouse over. For example (take note of the mpvc change at the end):

I moved my mouse to the top left of banner and it shows
http://cover.website.doom/cover/88888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888&mpvc=11,10

Now in the middle
http://cover.website.doom/cover/88888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888&mpvc=55,255

Okay, now try copying and pasting the link location in notepad (this is the url most people would cookie stuff and hence be busted). You'll notice that mpvc is blank.


So what does this mean. Well I can tell you that not only will the be looking for the conversion rate and to see if you indeed have a banner displayed on your website (the referring url) but they will notice that all your clicks come from one url (yes each spot on the banner will be considered a unique url as the mpvc changes).

Currently I am treading lightly because doing a switch and I'm working on a way to foil this ingenious effort on their part (the advantage I have is I think about this in my sleep).

I have not tested to see if using just links will give you a different url (still testing different methods with them).

Yes you do get impressions from the links.

Are they using an image map on their banner? Maybe an image map that has many different URLs in it's grid? If so, (if I understand your post), then maybe you could peak at their HTML code, grab all their URLs and have your cookie stuffing software randomly rotate through all of them.

Does that make any sense, or am I not understanding your post?

i have tried it without the custom id and i couldnt get it to work, but looking back over it, i think its because i had <a=href at the beginning by accident lol. try it both ways, im sure it dosnt matter to much though

eBay is really working hard to catch all cookie stuffers..

I wonder what does CacheBuster mean in their following code ?...

yaa cashcorp, it's not hard to rotate the links but when I was rotating my RSS feed ebay affiliate links, I found cachbuster link in my analyzer software and I have no clue what does that mean...

The first time your browser fetches something, an image, a link a iframe, js file, css file, whatever, usually the fetched data is stored in the browser cache (on your disk). If the browser needs the same data again within a short time it gets it from the cache rather than reading it again from the source.

So, for instance, if you have a lot of identical images on a page the image only gets read once. This reduces internet traffic, server loading and makes your pages appear faster, great stuff.

However, if say, you're using the image for tracking it's a problem because you want th fetch the image each time it's used, not just once.

So, the typical solution is to add an extra parameter that doesn't really mean anything (often just a random number) so each image url is unique and so doesn't get a cache hit.

that's a cachebuster!


BTW. the ebay link generator code has two parts the first is the link, the second the tracking image, if you don't include the image you don't get an impression.
