The best part, even if it starts to decline, it won't lose half its value overnight which makes it a pretty safe bet.

download and install the client again and paste/overwrite your wallet.dat on C:\Users\{PC_USER}/AppData/Roaming/Dogecoin wait for it resync, you will be downloading around more than 3 years of blockchain data so it will be big..

If you haven't used it in years it'll take a long time to rebuild the local data. I left mine running here, currently 40something weeks behind. At this rate it'll sync in a few days I guess, unless it speeds up.
I'm like 3 years 22 weeks behind lol

LOL that's when the genesis DOGE block was mined in 2014.
It was like that when I first turned it on. It goes faster then slower then faster again. If you leave it overnight it'll probably wake up synchronized.

LOL that's cool. It's a pretty cool niche and the more you learn about it, the more you wanna do it. So I'm glad I could inspire you to actually dive in. Now you know more than I do
As for trading: I'm not a active trader. What I did years ago was that curiosity got the best of me and I tried to understand as much as I could how these coins worked technically. Though I'm no expert, I got to the point where I knew how they actually are safe and how they're moved across the world.
I also understood that creating a new coin was just a matter of cloning the BTC client off Github and then changing its logo and coin parameters. Bam you had a new coin. This was exploited by tons of worthless coins who became ponzi schemes. But some were rather cool and fun, like Lite, Doge and BTC. So I got interested in those.
So I've been in touch with cryptos for a few years - but now I have more questions than answers than I did years ago.

. its 165 now I was terribly freaking out because I bought around a million DOGE coins on a huge margin The deal turned out pretty good, however I am not using that option ever again
