I'm done with XSserver. I need a new VPS for BH tools!

So I know about jack squat about servers. I know I'm renting a VPS from XSserver and it's constantly freezing and I constantly have to ask them to restart it. It's been this way for six months and I'm done. I'm tired of not being able to be productive. I'm fairly certain they are over-selling their servers.

The only reason I was attracted to them was for the unmetered bandwidth. But I guess I could get away with 1000 GB or so. I'm really not sure. I remember almost hitting 250 GB on Comcast while only softly hitting Scrapebox.

So I need some help. I use a lot of programs that seem to demand Windows. I currently use:

Scrapebox
MegaPinger
ProxyFinder
Bookmarking Demon
Article Marketing Robot (soon)

So I need a VPS that will let me use these programs, preferably more than one at a time. I'm using the second tier at XSserver and it bogs down if I try to run Scrapebox and MegaPinger at once. And ProxyFinder, which is supposed to be a background process, kills the whole thing. This is not acceptable.

Who can I go to for a server that has:
Windows Server 2008 or 03 or whatever variant will work? Everything else I'm finding is set up with cPanel for hosting, or Linux. I need Windows.

And I need enough bandwidth to pound away at these programs without worrying about over shooting. How much would that be?

Help please!

XSserver does suck... I'm on a 60 meg line, so I am just gonna build my own server..

You must try and feel if xss is s*ck and overselling
 
I use them and have no problem whatsoever. Everything running at full speed 24/7. Did you use the 256 or 512 package or tried to run 100 programs at the same time? They rock
 
I have currently a post gone into the moderators about servers that i will be supplying soon.. it is currently in approval stage ..

If you had bothered to read, I run one program at a time from the list above. I have the $35 2.6 GHz, 1024 MB of RAM deal. More than enough.

Scrapebox can consume upwards of 2 GB of ram when using certain features, such as link checker. This can cause freezing issues if your ram limit has been reached.

I let my Xsserver expire as well...they say 100mb connection but mine was far below, it froze a lot!

100MB connection is just the bandwidth , If you are having issues with freezing then its the system resources alloted RAM , CPU speed etc.,
100MB connection and RAM,CPU are two different things
 
I see there is a converging opinion that XSserver sucks for what they are advertising.

Any other decent alternatives for Windows Server 03 or 08?
 
how fast is your connection? and what are you gonna use the VPS for. If you have decent speed and system. Install VirtualBox and install windows. Run your own Virtual Windows on your PC and leave it to run all your bots.
 
I use them and am satisfied. Since they re cheap compared to spamahost or pandaservers, just get the 1GB line for like 10$

@OP your problem is not related to XSServer, you ve got problems because you use a too small VPS. Get a dedicated server with a good proc like i7 and you will not have any problem anymore.
 
i read in another thread someone was complaining about speed issues with the server. They contacted the support and demanded to be swapped to another server and they did.

Maybe you can just ask them to swap to another host for the server.

I have been using them for 2 months now and not 1 problem. Download at 80MB / s and upload around 75, so i am happy

Hostvendor net is a much better alternative to xsserver. As I mentioned in my previous message - I am running xrumer on their vps's and never had any problems/crashes. I found them to be more stable and reliable than ones from xsserver 'cause there are only 4 vps's per single physical server.

aren't so many programs the reason you complain but in general yes I read lots of bad opinions about their vps servers but on other hand their dedis have one of the best value for the price, consider to upgrade to dedi so you will not share resources with other their clients

I use them one at a time. Only one even open at a time.

I'm also on 30 meg line. And as I'm starting my career in BH I'm also thinking about setting up my own environment.

Any clues on that topic? It's 50$ for a computer from CL/gumtree. Is it goof enough for that purposes? Or do I need some "server" sulutions? (I don't think regular PCs are designed to work 24/7)
