Forum anomaly - Or is it just for me?

Hiya,

For some time now, about 7 to 10 days or so, after I login to the BHW forum, I no longer see the list of latest posts by members.

I just see the top menu/navigation bar and a black area below this (where the newest posts are supposed to be, one row after another).

Also, after I login to the BHW forum, I can see a line in the IE status bar that says "Error on page." with a little icon on the bottom of my browser window (lower left corner).

If I click on that little icon beside "Error on page" line, a smaller browser
window pops up and says:

"Problems with this Web page might prevent it from being displayed properly or functioning properly. In the future, you can display this message by double-clicking the warning icon displayed in the status bar."

In the box below this message is:

Line: 6
Char: 2
Error: 'this.menu' is null or not an object
Code: 0
URL: http://www.blackhatworld.com

I have cleared my cache and cookies in IE and scanned my computer for viruses and spyware...everything seems to be clear and fine.

Would any one else have encountered this same anomaly or is it just me (or my computer) ?

I'd be grateful for any ideas or suggestions.

I think it must be an IE bug, It's working fine in firefox. So, if you're looking for a quick fix, download http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/. It's so much better then all other browsers!!

All I know is vbadvance was once on this forum but it is gone. the official forum directory is /blackhat-seo/ and if you use that you shouldn't have problems, if you have problems with that you have problems with the actual forum, root is not where the forum is installed.

I'll mention it to Dave, but for the life of me I cannot recreate this error/problem you guys are having. I even went so far as to create a new noob account just to see if it was my Admin privs that was causing it to not reproduce the problem for me.

Tested on 3 different computers, 3 different browsers, and 2 user accounts. Still works fine..

It does that to me too, but it only slows me down for a whopping 3 seconds to click on the new posts tab. No biggie

Do you guys not see the Home link up at the top-left, next to User CP?

no problems here with firefox or explorer yes l can see the home link

Hi Everyone,

Thank you to all of you for trying to diagnose and solve this anomaly.

I appreciate your time.

I did try using a different computer running Vista and Firefox but I still see the just a blank dark screen with the nav menus on the top of the page. What's different with Firefox is that the little error message and icon no longer show up in the status bar (on the lower left side of my browser).

The good news is that I can still get to the main forum areas.

Anyways, I just wanted to thank everyone for your replies and your time.
