So this is the 2nd part of my method on how to set up a private blog network, if you didn't read my first part, it's floating around somewhere. In this section I'm teaching how to do linkbuilding for your private blog network after the latest google algo updates. Sorry guys it looks messy and doesn't have pretty pictures, I've tried to focus on the content as I had a LOT to cover and I probably missed a shittonne.
For the people who are reading this and haven't read the first part: Click here
CONTENT
Now, the content is where lots of people mess up on. And this is what I shall be teaching. The content needs to look as less spammy as possible. The keywords you're gonna be targeting are also important:
- In the example, I chose a SEO website. Now, for you to increase your authority, you need to rank for your own domain name initially and a bunch of generic keywords like "click here". The key game here is not to focus so much on the niche keywords but instead, focus on generic keywords. If you guys would like generic keywords from me, I do not mind, just let me know.
- For all my private blogs, I always keep the word count differentiated. Why? Well think for a second, if you have 20 articles on there which are 500 words each, what do you think Google is gonna think? I think this is very important for all content, not just private blog networks. The way I do it is for every 2 posts I make with 500-600 words, the next 2 will be maybe 10 words and the next may be 100. Write anything, like for example: "Hey guys, gonna edit a bit of the website, what do you think?"
- I always try and write the content myself. I know this takes longer, but in the future, you shall come to appreciate it because no matter how much of an expert another person may be, they do not know your specific intent on what you're gonna do with the content, so always try and add it yourself
- This is a major one. I always see this and it's a rooky mistake. Be sure to add the content at random times but regular. And sometimes even post from your phone for example, why? Because this makes it look more natural. Please do not lump 1000 articles in an hour and then leave it for months. This doesn't look natural at all. If your content is good and timely, content alone can get you the authority you want.
- The content should try and look as realistic as possible
- Post the google updates, valuable content is key now. Lets say your niche is payday loans for example. Instead of writing a generic article on what are payday loans, perhaps dig deeper and write about "the Postives and Negatives of Payday Loans - Are they really worthit?" Something like that. The google's algo is much smarter than us blackhatters consider it to be, and its important that we are prudent because of this. Research the niche you have chosen carefully, and make sure the information you are writing isn't just something a reader would skim over, here's an example:
(taken from one of my competitor's web 2.0 articles)
"SEO is search engine optimization and it helps lubricate the transition between Google and your business. It's important to consider SEO as a trainee of your business and you need to nurture it. SEO can help your website get to the top and drive more profits to your business..."
This is a poor example of an article, fair enough it's a snippet but it's blatent that there's a lot of spun content. Here's a snippet of an article I got one of my VA's to write:
"Websites can be daunting to the businesses that have always operated on a foundation of word-off-mouth advertisement but some of the richest businesses now would be nowhere without their websites. When you type in "Chinese takeaway Feltham" do you go past the first page? I highly doubt it, and if you do, is it because the first page had no reviews?..."
Engaging the audience is key, I'm convinced Google can even track the amount of ?'s, !'s, 's you have in your content, and I'm sure many would disagree with me, but that's my personal view. I just ask one question, which article sounds more enticing?
Google's new algo has also put an emphasis on semantically related keywords and partial match keywords. So let me explain, before lets say your keyword was "Cheap Plumber London", usually you would've crammed that in your article somewhere and linked it. Well, now it should be more like this: "If you would like to find a cheap plumber in London, then have a look HERE" - Google now can essentially understand the words next to the anchor and related it back to the content, and although many people are running around in a frenzy thinking this is difficult, it's actually not. In fact, it makes life easier because you don't have to spam your anchor in the middle of fucking nowhere.
On Page Optimization
So now you have the content, but what we need to do is make the website itself powerful. There are a bunch of tools to do this, but the one I would recommend is All in one SEO. This tells you exactly what you are missing when you type in the keyword for that particular page.
Now the main thing I'm gonna teach you here is structure. I think structure matters a lot to this type of SEO, so this is how I would set it up.
Have one category for one keyword which is based around the articles. For each category you create, you want to have a minimum of 5 pages in there. Bare in mind, I'm not talking about the generic keywords, I'm talking about the article keywords in general. So for example, for my SEO blog, I have a category for What is SEO, Free SEO, SEO Tools ETC, you get the idea.
After you have set this up, always try and link back to another category/post within the blog. Why? Because again this is just creating as many links as possible to make it look natural.
The structure of the website is also very important. Remember those external links you saw? Well by those, I meant link to perhaps a Youtube video or a Wikipedia link. Why? Because first of all this looks natural, and second of all, Youtube and Wikipedia are HIGH HIGH authority sites.
Please do not fall into the trap of overdoing it, that's not what we want to do. Our aim is to gain authority, not ranking, so the methods above I have just mentioned should be used with caution.
For every article, at least one or two keywords should link to Wikipedia for example. Make sure that none of the content you initially post is linked to any of your own money sites.
The tools you need (if you're using wordpress) are:
- All in One SEO
- Social floater
- Any citations plugin
You also need a widget for your contact details (use any fake details )
Woorank.com (not affiliated with them) is great to check your onpage SEO, and it tells you what you can do to improve it. But generally, if the theme is organized, you have some onpage linking and some external outbound links you should be good.
OFF PAGE OPTIMIZATION
Ok, so off page optimization. I think this bit, if I was to explain fully would take me about 2 months, so I'm going to give you the nitty gritty details for you guys to get going. From that point, it is your decision to whether you want to research further. I am basically going to teach you what's necessary:
- The key here is to develop HIGH QUALITY links, we don't want quantity, but quality, so how I do it is the following:
- The first thing that you need to do is get the views going. So try and get youtube videos out there and promote your website
- A good way of getting your views going is by looking for forums which have ad space available, and purchase some banner space. If the banner is tracing back to your site, again that just gives positive link juice
- Social bookmark/Send Social signals to every article you create on your private blog BEFORE you start spamming it with your own SEO orientated shit. Make it look as natural as possible.
- Web 2.0s. Now this is where it's going to get a bit more complicated post the latest algo update. Google has made it clear that spammy shit just doesn't work. So what you need to do is set up web 2.0s. Here's a few:
Blogspot.com
Wordpress.com
Shutterfly.com
Weebly
Tumblr
Jigsy.com
Blog.com
Kiwibox.com
Yodaq.com
Flixya.com
Loads of lists are available on BHW, if you want mine let me know. Now what you want to do is set up content on here. Make sure you add a about us page and privacy page. This is where I see lots of seo services making their mistakes: you need to add content which is VALUABLE to the reader. Let me reiterate that, VALUABLE. It doesn't matter if it's spun (properly), but it needs to be useful, so lets go back to the SEO blog I'm setting up:
Lets say the keyword is "What is SEO", don't just use that in your title and think that's your seo work done. Google is now looking for partial match keywords so the title should be "Is SEO Helpful For Small Businesses". The way I see Google's new update is like a massive AI Dick which learns your moves and is ready to slap whenever you don't do as it likes. Semantically related keywords are now more important than ever, and you need to make this clear. You then need to chuck on a minimum of 3-4 articles as a minimum on each web 2.0 you set up.
Tiered link building is pointless for these web 2.0s. We're not trying to get them spammed with links, we're trying to make them look legit more than anything. So social signals is key, so you need to set up social accs for each of them. Once you have, link them to your web 2.0s and send some social signals to the web 2.0s. Social bookmarks are also powerful so I'd recommend that as well. If you have done the article building right, that's the only link building you'll need. The next stage is PATIENCE. Let them age before you link them to your private blog. I would give it at least a month before I add them, but again that's at your own personal preference. Google +1 these web 2.0s as much as you can, loads of cheap providers here, google has put a great emphasis on these post hummingbird so I can't recommend these enough.
Purchase some WHITEHAT SEO services from BHW if you wish for the web 2.0s, make sure it's not directing to the private blog because it's much easier to disavow one web 2.0 link from your private blog as opposed to 100's of links which google didn't like ... in case you ever do get caught.
On the web 2.0s, I would also recommend adding youtube videos which are relevant to your niche as it just looks more natural with extra content and external outbound links.
. Now instagram has gone viral, and although marketers made their money of it ages ago, that doesn't mean we can't get any traffic from there. Look on your phone for whats hot, and speak to the account owner. You want to speak to the younger generation, why? Because they're always looking to make a quick buck, so without being creepy, message them and ask if they want to make $30 to place a link on their account with an image tag or something.
Remember, when you are making your articles for the web 2.0s, try and make them semantically relevant but keep them longtail. Ping/Lindex etc all the links you make, but don't spam them, just do it once and let the link find itself on google.
The methods discussed above will give you more than enough linkjuice for your domain and your pages, which is what we want.
Now the patience begins.
Guys, please be patient with this, please do not start spamming your links on their to get to the top, your blog network needs to be nurtured so I'd say, let the links develop over 2 months
Next stage shall be the monetisation methods I developed, and a list of my linkbuilding sites, a link to themes and the widgets/plugins quoted in this method along with some other content. Let me know what you think guys, I've probably missed quite a bit, but I tried to make it as comprehensive as I can.
