Year 2014! It is time to update BHW forum! Don't you think?

I am seeing this forum as one of the best but it lacks some great features. Since this is forum suggestion thread I would like to ask for 1 crazy good feature which I don't think it is hard to implement.

We are year 2014 where IM is holding strong. Our emails are spammed to death with new products/services every single day. If you are like me your email client looks similar to this or probably worse:




We live in very fast life and where time is money. So I am getting an idea which I would like to see in this forum. It is improved notification system!

Right now we are getting notification just when we get PM or friend requests. I would like you to implement something more advanced. For example implement notification when somebody replies to your posts in some thread. Youtube has it, cpaelites has it, digitalpoint has it, other forums in domain industry has it, so why BHW don't implement this great feature? It saves time and improves forum interaction. I can guarantee you that your forum interaction would go up if you implement this option for minimum 40%. It saves people's time! For example a month ago I left message in Scrapebox thread and I totally forgot it until today because I am not going to waste my time in Gmail spammed inbox with 1000 emails looking for BHW replies. Don't you think so? So I forgot and loopline might responded to me. Who knows... That's why I want you to upgrade this forum and improve interaction. You might add some red coloring as well. What do you think? Is it possible?

That actually would be pretty cool.Something like Reddit. Else it's a tedious job to go see if someone replied. Would massively facilitate discussions.

I just did a quick search for vbulletin notification mod and found that there has been another thread about this same exact suggestion where DD replied like it'll be added in the next forum update. http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackh...dback/466592-notification-mention-system.html

It looks like they haven't done it yet. IMO, a Mod(vbmod) which costs less than $200 for lifetime updates and increases the user interaction 10x should be given top priority.

I've installed Checker Plus extension for gmail on chrome which shows me a notification whenever someone posts a reply to a thread where I commented but having an inbuilt ajax notification would be really cool. Hope admin adds the feature this time.

Yes guys this is a great feature! Whenever I log into those specific sites with this option enabled I am just click away from those posts or comments and usually reply almost instantly. Imagine how much BHW is loosing on interactivity every single day. I read a lot of threads here on BHW and many times I notice people just don't get replies when they quote someone in threads. That means something... More interactivity means more knowledge being spread. BHW would grow even more. I think it is owner's interests in the end too to make our life easier and grow BHW even further.

It's on our upgrade path. We've focussed on stability and uptime in the past and watched the revised versions of VB getting worse and worse and we spend more and more time patching them. So we had to go in a new direction.

It's our aim to launch at UnGagged.com 2014 in Las Vegas, full roll out shortly afterwards. This platform will allow us to develop BHW into the service it deserves to be whilst ensuring we retain the great community we currently have.

It will be worth the wait. .
