Definitely the Border Collie.
They require a lot of dedication and attention so its not a dog for everybody (everything else would make them really unhappy).

My favorite was actually a mix that we had growing up. He was a German Shepherd/Golden Retriever mix and about the naturally smartest dog I have met. Other than that the Rott or a Great Dane. Nothing is funnier than seeing the look on someones face at the door when a head pokes around you above the waist.:shock:
