Hello Everyone,

Yesterday I was updating my website, and I edited the meta keywords tag with additional keywords on the home page and one inner page.

And then I linked the inner page with exact match anchor from all the pages of the site. (Exact Match Anchor Internal Linking)

The result after less than 12 hours, all my keyword rankings had a huge drop, optimized and long tails also dropped to nowhere!

After reversing the editing I went to GWT, I fetched my website and submit it to index.

Within less than 4 hours, my website regain back it's rankings.

I think the main reason for that drop was the excessive keyword stuffing and the linked post with exact anchor from all the pages.

I'm interested to know if anyone experienced a similar situation nowadays!

Kind Regards,
Darks

Seems far fetched. I mean, it doesn't look reasonable that google will play with your rankings so fast, especially, obeying your changes in 4 hours.

Sometimes rankings can fluctuate that quickly. It might be a coincidence while you're updating your blog.

Would have been better if you only did ONE change (either meta keywords or EM anchoring) as doing both pollutes any conclusion to be made. Likewise, you need much more time to gather any reasonable conclusion. For example, I noticed a drop in rankings when I change the title of my homepage (make it more optimized) together with the meta description, but it always bounces back in about 5-6 days.

Thank you all,

SEO is a game and mastering it isn't that easy as there are too many factors to improve/destroy rankings, regardless of the time.
