301-ing a penalized site to competitor? (negative-301)

I am not encouraging anyone to do this nor have the intention to.
But I am not understanding the 301-concepts that I read recently on the forum.

In theory, if we 301 redirect a high PR site to another site; the juice passes on.
Then I read about BHWer's site got penalized (sandboxed, de-indexed) and asked about if 301 to a new domain is a good idea blah blah blah....

So what if we 301 redirect a penalized site to competitor? Will my competitor be affected? (this is more like negative 301)

I dont quite see how this will make sense?

Penalty will only pass on if contents are identical. Google is not dumb.
 
How about the link juice?
There was a thread about 301 redirecting multiple domains into one and they weren't similar domains
 
what if you pull off the 301 does the site being 301'd to wash off the penalty?
 
Wouldn't the site you are pointing to be able to figure out that you had your penalized domain pointing at their domain? Or is there a way around that?
 
If it's a penguin penalty, 301ing it to a new domain will indeed pass the negative link juice. Those talking about identical content might be thinking of panda penalties. HOWEVER, I'm sure Google has some protection built in when 301ing penalized sites to a site that has existed for "X" number of days, months or years to prevent negative SEO. That's only an assumption, but a logical safeguard they *should* have in place.

I 301 redirected about 8 domains into one (1 year old nice domain, no significant backlinks), and all the pr and rankings appeared on the new domain after 10 days or so, some keywords got even better rankings while others went to page 2
 
did the same experiment. worked well with me too. but It did take longer to see results.
on the otherhand - I picked up a penalized site, and rebuilt the site put a few links in the sidebar to another domain I have. That domain did suffer a little due to the links.
Today I am going to try duplicate a site on a deindexed site I have and link to the original site.. let see what happens
 
if the new domain has more authority than the targeted domain, then it will take all it seo and positions..
i have been under this attack last year, competitor taken me all seo, i needed to add his domain to google webmaster to get his domain propietary and then remove his domain from google result :)
