Ive never noticed this and Ive run scrapebox on dedicated servers from no less then 10 different companies in multiple countries around the world, Ive also run it on VPS and Ive run it on multiple home based machines from Vista to windows 7 and Ive never seen this in any of the 40+ instances I might have running across multiple machines at any given time.
Even when they lock up because of a bad url or something on occasion, they cpu usage stays constant, its about 6% on most of my instances when that happens, but it doesn't increase.
Has this happened across multiple different machines for you, or just this one?
I can't think of any logical reason of what would cause this. I mean I "guess" that in theory if your machine was not handling memory well or it was paging a lot of data and we know that as scrapebox works, it works in memory. So over time it can increase in memory usage as its holding more data in memory then when it started. So if your machine was consantly having to access paged data or date not being used efficiently that could snow ball as the memory grows and cause more cpu usage. Im not an expert in the memory usage/cpu areana from this kind of perspective, so Im taking a Total shot in the dark.
I can say, my typical usage is no like this. Its very much spiky. Its not a uphill climb, its 1%, 3%,4%,2%,6%,8%,3% etc... Depends on the size of the pages being loaded at any given time and other factors. It seems very odd and almost "suspicious" that it would be a steady uphill climb. I don't even see that kind of trend when Im rending massive videos or other things, its still slightly spiky. Seems like there "could" be a issue localized to your setup/machine.
I can say that different hosts use different images with pre-configured options. It would seem that a copy of windows server would be similar in most cases, but so much can be pre-custmized by the host, and then there is whatever platform the vps image is actually running on top of etc...
I cancelled one host because I tried out multiple of their machines and they would just randomly restart with scrapebox running. It was crazy, Id let it go and then come back adn the entire server would crash and restart. I tried 6 different dedicated servers with that company, it was random and seemed fixed for a while, and Id go round and round with their tech support. Never had that issue with any other host.
Point is, it could well be your actual VPS. You may or may not find the problem and you may or may not be able to fix it if you do. But you could try and ask your VPS provider for a different physical machine and/or eventually check out different hosts. At a point it becomes not worth your time to try and fix it vs walking away.
I don't shop much at this point, just every 6 months to make sure Im getting a good deal, but Ive left 2 hosts total for issues that no one else was having and as soon as I moved hosts, the issues were "magically solved", meaning the issue was with the host and their setup not playing nicely with my configuration.
