Switching Sprint Phone to Verizon Service

I was just wondering, I have a Blackberry Pearl that I got back in April of this year. The service was activated with Sprint but unfortunately they suck to say the least. So what I was wondering was, is it still available to somehow have the phone unlocked and service transferred to Verizon's service or something?

How would I go about doing this...

I don't have an answer for you but have you tried searching online for any "free blackberry unlock" services? I think I have seen some free iphone unlock services, so they might be out there.

^^ Well see, I haven't yet but the phone is already activated on Sprint, I just didn't know if there was a way to unlock it entirely and such.

verizon uses CDMA, and i think sprint PCS uses CDMA but its most likely locked and hard coded to only work on Sprint, plus the software wont work on verizon.

Plus Verizon are Nazi's about outside hardware on there NETWORK!



Try wirefly for a cellphone deal on a new verizon activation and port your number over.

Then sell your old phone on eBay to re-coop your cancellation fee.


I got a blackberry pearl free from T-mobile when I did it.

Not to sound like a jackass, but I rather not.

I see a few people talk about you can have your phone unlocked so you can use it with another network which I may do and just have it on some kind of AT&T pre-pay plan. I know my brother got the Verizon Dare 2 and somehow unlocked it to work on his Verizon prepaid without any issues.

That's why I asked. In either case, I may get it unlocked first. But what exactly is the process and what happens when you get it "unlocked."

BTW, no offense, T-Mobile sucks here. I couldn't get service in the nearest Wal-Mart LOL

P.S. The box states the following: "This device will only work with Sprint devices - service plans, Sprint Power Vision and other services/options must be purchases separately. Operates within the Sprint CDMA frequency band of 800MHz/1.9GHz. This phone will not operate on any iDEN network."

Judging from that, someone please tell me its still possible to unlock this phone!
