    Sorry for a newbie question... but have been battling with this for quite sometime now ...

    I want to play a particular youtube video on MUTE, whenever my website is loaded by the visitor ... i have been able to autoplay the video by adding the autoplay tag but there is no way i could start this video on mute.

    Would be thankful if somebody can share if there is any method to start youtube embedded videos on mute ...

    Try these:

    try this
    in the object tag parameters, add the following
    <PARAM NAME="mute" VALUE="True">
    in the embed tag, add the following
    mute="True"

    OK. Solved,

    You can not use the normal embed code to get this done it's impossible despite rumours of adding a parameter called mute on the embed code here's how if have done it.

    http://ignite-systems.com/vids/youtube_embed.html

    The vid opens, auto plays and then it's also muted View source of my page. All you need to accomplish this is to download swfobject.js and make it sit in the same location as the vid page. VOILA !

    I can now add this URL inside an image source tag or I can use this url in an autohits exchange to gain video views from tonnes of people.

    <script type="text/javascript" src="swfobject/swfobject.js"></script>

    <div id="ytapiplayer">
    You need Flash player 8+ and JavaScript enabled to view this video.
    </div>

    <script type="text/javascript">

    var params = { allowScriptAccess: "always" };
    var atts = { id: "myytplayer" };
    swfobject.embedSWF("http://www.youtube.com/v/82-FJyniP7A&enablejsapi=1&playerapiid=ytplayer&autopl ay=1",
    "ytapiplayer", "425", "356", "8", null, null, params, atts);

    function onYouTubePlayerReady(playerId) {
    ytplayer = document.getElementById("myytplayer");
    ytplayer.mute();
    }

    </script>

    If you want to get views for your videos, you will not get.

    A view on a embed video doesn't count.

    You have to IFrame the video from YouTube. How to mute this, I don't know. Java-Script??

    Are you sure? I seem to be getting a lot due to embedding.

    I heard this to, but if it's working I'll try it. I'll just embed a bunch of my videos on a page and then send junk traffic to it.

    @ ignitesystems

    I have searched all over for away to mute a video during playback. A lot of people said it couldn't be done.

    Thanks for this.

    I can confirm that embedded videos via Youtube API doesn't count. Any other solution?

    How about having some silence at the end and having it start at that point with #t=[number of seconds]s

    I can confirm it does too work for embedding, but many factors like ip, user agent, an referal are factored in. If you simply have code to auto launch the player, an reload the page, you will only get one view (the first one) an not more after each refresh. This is with the spam filter on however. What happens before it activates might differ.

    No, I've inserted the video as an 1x1 pixel to the footer of high traffic sites (above 50000 unique visitor a day), but doesn't count. The video swf is downloaded, I found it in 3 different browsers cache. Any suggestion?

    Can you translate what this code does?

    It looks different, then the normal autoplay-tag what you add. But I see, it is still included:
    v/vHSfwgFRJtI&autoplay=1&enablejsapi=1&playerapiid=ytplayer

    I know that it will not work like that, but I will try yours to see.
