Below is the BS i got from eBay when i tried to list another item. i have not reached 5k or do i have 100 active items. So why am i recieving this BS and when will it go away? Do i really have to call these assholes my account is a stealth account. will they ask for personal information?

    "Attention

You've reached the selling limit for the number of items you can list. New sellers are limited to 100 (active + completed) items or $5000 of sales (active + completed) per 30-day period. This means you can stay within your limit or contact us to review your account with you.

We'd like the opportunity to review your account to help ensure you are on track to provide a good experience for eBay buyers.

Please call us between 7:00 AM and 4:00 PM (PT) Monday-Friday at 1-866-492-3229 to speak with a customer support representative.

Outside the US please call 801-545-1592

We look forward to the chance to talk with you about your current and future business plans, along with your supplier information. This conversation will help us make sure that all new sellers meet their buyers' expectations. "

This is some kind protection. Someone can list 1000 items, take the money and close the account. Ebay believes they are protecting the customers this way. But no-one can stop a scam artist opening hundreds of accounts and listing thousand of items, then disappearing, without closing the account.

i think these morons are basing the 5k in sales on the listings that i have active with a high buy it now price. I dont expect to sell the items at anywhere close to that price but it has to be the reason. i will call later unless someone here thinks its a bad idea?

Have you gone through this process already? The account is about 30 days old but i just started selling with it about 2 weeks ago. Just selling off some left over inventory.

I got this one before and after one day, my eBay account get suspended. They request me to send the invoice and some document from suppliers.

You know, I can't understand these big webistes. They get big and seem to forget where they came form. How would they like it if someone came in and said they could only make $5,000 per month in sales? They'd never be where they are today, that's for sure. Just another case of a company getting so big online and cornering the market so now they can do whatever they want.

There are no alternatives, so they figure they got you by the balls, and they're pretty much correct.

That's why you have a limit. You are a new account. You need to get the account to a feedback of 30 or at least 50 consecutive items successfully sold using PP.

I had a new account for 2 months, and started listing electronics. That's when they slapped me with it.

Just keep your listings at 17 items. DO NOT CALL THEM.

Work on the account, go slow and get that feedback up. It will go away once they see you are selling legitimately and the buyers are satisfied.

Pretend buyers do work, but is risky.

i had a feeling that calling them would be a bad idea. I will just have to keep my buy it now prices realistic and maybe open up another account if i start to outgrow the 5k monthly BS limit.

Yep, that's the best thing to do. Keep that account on the low. Slowly sell items, work up the account feedback until the limit is gone. Which shouldn't be long after you have satisfied customers.

Just create new accounts, and work on them while the other one cools down. You can still make just as much (if not more) with multiple accounts.

You can email them about you want to increase the limit and they will reply they will consider to review your account in 30 days, in this period try to increase your feedback and when the time come, they will remove your limit without any problem.

I got this message from eBay on some of my new accounts. Word of advice, don't speak to them when they call... and they Will call. They will ask you to fax them in suppliers, but they get 3,000 faxes a day, they won't be able to "verify" you for 2 weeks. If you do speak with them, tell them you already sent the stuff in three days ago, and that you spoke to someone to verify it. They told you it would take a day to get since they get so many faxes, and that you then spoke to them AGAIN (different rep of course) and they verified that they received it and the limit is lifted. If they something to the effect of "Your account is still limited," claim that you already thought it was lifted.

My account manager told me the reason they are doing this is to promote a more professional selling place. eBay/PayPal want businesses that are already operating well, they don't want Mary Smith selling her hand crafted doll clothing out of a room in her house. They want someone with a good bulk of inventory, back up finances, and an already existing successful business.

Since my account is stealth and fake,I prefer to wait for next 30 days and list for new products, however I still can't find it. btw, anyone have good product? I'd like to list it in my ebay heheheehe
