It means you have already completed downloading a file and now you are sharing with other peers in a network

Technically, to seed is when YOU (whether a seeder/leecher) or OTHER PEERS (seeders/leechers) share those little piece of files called torrents to other peers who don't have a complete file.

When you start downloading a torrent file you will be seeding and leeching data with other peers until you complete downloading the whole file. At that point you will start to seed.

Yep if you seed a file you are allowing other to download it from you, this can also seriosuly slow done you computer speed so do it at your own accord.

Seeding has two important things, one positive and one negative:
    1) You can help to share and can increase the download speed when other people are downloading
    2) The client you're using to seeding/downloading can slow down your bandwidth and you can have problems of speed with the web surfing.

Seeding is uploading, after you download it gets the file ready to be uploaded so other people can download. If you don't want to seed, right click and click stop cuz it will make your internet run slow.
