Will switching my web hosting to a new company effect my rankings at all?

It shouldn't affect it at all. There is risk of prolonged down time though I guess for most transfer scenarios? And time is money heh.

Since one of the ranking factors is site speed, you should try and go for a host that will either be faster than you previous host or similar.

A few years ago I had several ranking increases a month or two after changing hosts - no idea if they were related although I did think that the new one was faster.

Make sure you do not change the CMS and leave the link structure the same. Site speed is a factor so you better
go with a pretty decent hosting company.
