I have an eCommerce site (Amazon affiliated) that is UK based but now is ranking very high up on google.com so I get alot of traffic from USA and other big countries that use google.com.

    My question is:
Because the prices are in £ (Great Britain Currency), USA visitors are leaving my site almost instantly. Is there a way around this without affecting any of my SEO rankings?

    Thanks

Is it possible to use a redirect script/plugin to a page that caters to the US (i.e. prices & grammer)?

It's possible. You could split test a few pages and keep an eagle eye on the serps for any signs. In the meantime, you might find US visitors engage with the new page.

I'm actually kind of curious myself. Wouldn't geo-redirection technically be like cloaking?

Why don't you create a currency conversion widget that floats on the page. Could potentially increase stickiness too ;-)

How about creating a second site with US products. When they visit your page a window can pop up saying do you want to visit the US or UK site?

As with everything split test or at the very least consult your SEO guy

For safer side, use a popup script along with geo targeting script. That will arise when a visitor from US and it will instruct them to visit a US version of your website.
