Hey I was wondering if anyone has recently made money monetizing the hottest trends on Google Trends?

Ive heard about this method before but havent heard of anything recently about it.

    Any tips?

    Thanks!

Mind sharing how much you've made off of this process for one trend for example?

Do you only get your trends from Google or other sites?

Unless you can find a good auto blogger that grabs the newest trends on que, it is a lot of work. Not to mention optimizing each article and all that jazz. It can make money though if you stick with it, especially with social book marking sites. I made a few good chunks of change when a few of my articles got featured on digg and it brought me 30,000+ unique visits while I was asleep =).

i used to bank with this method. My highest earnings was based on Tiger Wood's mistresses. However, I think this method will no longer work today.I'm not sure though. I agree with EssenceWebs, it's a lot of work.

The trick is finding EMDs before they get very popular. If you can grab an EMD 2-3 months before it goes crazy then you will make bank on it. Just imagine if you had some sort of justin bieber fan blog ranking #1 for, "justin bieber" when justin bieber was not popular. You would make bank when he became popular.

You have to be "on top" of the trends. At least half your day will be taken up keeping up with what's happening and what's old news.

Ideally, it would be a 2-man gig so you can be on top of things when they are news.
Trends are tough but can definitely be profitable.

Well, basically every successful online (...and offline) magazine/newspaper capitalize on trends.

Problem is, if you don't have an authority site registered in Google News, a crystal ball is your best bet.

You can still make good money on trends, you just need to go about it a different way. You will always be fucked by bigger media sites and companies but you don't have to go the site way at all. You can try YouTube as trends, just go see who your competition is and make a plan to be better than them.

I was thinking and how would you guys monetize trends?

Putting adsense or a clickbank offfer, or is CPA offers the best way to go.

I'm thinking CPA is better but I dont know how I would show the offer to the person. Would it be a content locker, or would I say heres a free $50 gift card from Walmart at the end of the post or something?

If you stick to trends dealing with a "more retarded" audience, monetizing with simple cpa's is the way to go. I've been doing this extensively, social networks are of course your best bet but you might want to clean up your referrer somehow since we've all been hearing about horror stories of affiliates banned on payday because the source of traffic was not compliant with the advertiser/network ToS.

How would you present the CPA offer to the person?
Where do you find your trends that you target?

Any other tips to make my autoblogs successful?

I haven't plunked around with G trends, as others have pointed out it's hit and miss, time intensive to set up, and faces competition. You have to deduce the monetization element out of a trend, as well as project the enduring element out of the trending topic that will last long enough for you to construct the site promotion that will make money from it. Very active work, but setting up Blogger or Web 2.0 blogs are ideal for this.

A more plausible modern wrinkle to the concept is to skip Google Trends, and just do a web search for "announced release date" or similar terms for product launches. Since most of these results translate to products, it's easier to prepare sites and campaigns that will capitalize on the trends.

The new Google search updates favor larger, established sites with greater reputation, so it's harder to bank now.
