Recently someone decided to steal my product and sell it as his own. He even copied my design.
I did a whois on the domain but its WhoisGuard protected my question is what should my next steps be ? Who should I contact in order to get his site down... is there a way to bypass the whoisguard and see his information ?

    Partially true.

Namecheap (the company that manages WhoisGuard) are pretty strict about these things and don't give away any information. GoDaddy, on the other hand, are known to reveal "protected" details quite easily - all it takes is one email/fax from a "lawyer" and they'll happily comply to avoid any further problems. At least it used to be like that about a year ago.

So yeah - in your situation the only two solutions would be to either send a DMCA compaint to their hosting provider or to sue them.

Look up the whois history in domaintools. If the domain was initially registered publicly and then had whois protection added, you will be able to see the old whois info.

Just act like a customer, contact him through contact option in his site, then try to get his details.

There is nothing much you can do if you don't have federal copyright(i mean real legal action, because the usual thing you create is shit), but dmca is your best bet

as suggested above you can file a legal case against them.
their private registration service will collaborate and give you the domain owner's details
Godaddy does that or force the registrant to do so
