Do you need a premium PayPal account for PayPal to automatically redirect?

    Help please!

I'm having a website built and want it so the user is automatically redirected back to the site after a booking. It is working off a PayPal test account at the moment while it is being built and goes to the generic "thank you for your order" PayPal page after a booking where you can click "return to merchant's site". When I Google'd it it seemed to be a simple case of going into website payment preferences of PayPal and selecting auto-return. I've asked quite a few times for them to change it so it automatically redirects straight to a thank you page after a booking but it still hasn't been done so I am wondering whether it is more complicated. Is this true or am I missing something?

There was quite a few conflicting bits of info when I looked it up and some people say that you need a premium account for this to work and others say you can do it on a standard account. I looked at the features of the different accounts but it didn't give much indication. From what I can gather, a premium account allows you to integrate PayPal into your site so that they never leave your site rather than enabling auto redirects or anything.

If someone could shine a light on what's right and wrong here it would be appreciated.

I think you need a paypal pro account in order to auto redirect after purchase.

    Hello Rugbyjack,

For the regular/free account, you will have to see the paypal page with the small link said "Click here to go abc kto your merchant account". Even if you use the auto redirect, it will go to Paypal page then redirect page to your page.

In order to avoid that issue, you will need Paypal Pro and have the form directly integrated into your website. So when customer click confirm/order, paypal will process on the backend and once it is done, it will redirect your your thankyou.html page without customer knowing your using Paypal or seeing the Paypal page.

Many thanks. Will the $5 per month account suffice?

I can't because the site is being built for me so I don't have access. I'm trying to find the solution because although they have not said, I think they are struggling because I keep asking for it to be changed and it hasn't been!
