What's up guys. First of all, excuse me for being a complete noob, I really do hate being one of those :( I'm not trying to get RICH off of this, but I would like something worth my time to supplement my income while I'm starting college a little bit later in life. I'm not well versed in all aspects of IM but I have read around quite a lot and wanted to run this plan through you guys before I implement it. It involves content locking and promotion (shocking right? You could call it revolutionary)

    Step 1.
I'm having a hard time finding a niche. I'm not trying to blow my horn here but I'm a prodigy when it comes to cars (I'm only 20) and I'm respected by some of the biggest names in the GM/Ford performance industry. HOWEVER, it's not really a niche that I feel I could promote that would help me when it comes to content locking. Some of the ideas that come to mine might be a bit saturated, but I do have an idea that I think will do okay for what I'm trying to accomplish here. It involves the online gaming crowd and a few methods to achieve certain things that they would normally have to pay for. I'd link them to a website/blog where I have a content locker setup

    Step 2.
Create a few Youtube videos demonstrating the product and provide them with links. For upscaling I was thinking of simply creating more accounts (using proxies if necessary) and possibly looking for other solutions via forum members on here to pay for promotion. Would appreciate any tips on that!

Step 3. Visitors would be directed to my website from the Youtube videos and will be faced with a content locker. From there, they either exit the page or continue on in hopes of getting the content they desire.

    Now, a few questions.

I'm not sure if buying a domain would increase my turnover rate at all, or if a free domain will suffice. I don't mind paying, but if the difference is negligible then why bother, ya know? I figured if it's a link from a Youtube video description, and I'm posing it as my blog, then people wouldn't really care too much.

As for content lockers, I know about Content Locker Pro v2, and I'm more than willing to buy it, BUT, I was thinking of trying a cheaper alternative first to make sure I'm not wasting $97 bucks. It seems the Adscendmedia content locker works fairly well, and it would work with a Wordpress blog easily enough, which was what I was considering using to start with until I can make at least a few bucks a day and move onto upscaling.

Lastly, which network do you guys recommend? I'm not exactly sure who to go with, and frankly I'm nervous about the call. I don't want the damn network to gouge my earnings, as I have seen on here a few times before.

Is there anything else I'm missing? Any comments, suggestions, critiques are welcome, and sorry if this really isn't the right place to be posting this. Thanks!

Driving traffic from youtube videos to your site is the most difficult step!
So I recommend you to forget about paid stuff(domain and a Premium content locker) and concentrate on driving traffic from youtube to your site.
Once you see the traffic coming in, then think about the other stuff.

well he does need a domain if he wants to start sending traffic there :p. but yes try and create some videos first then create your website then upload them.

Start with a company with adscend or leadbolt (or any other CPA network with a free content locker and start rolling. Earn 97 before you spend it.
