Hi there, as the title suggests, I was wondering if buying or dropping products from chinese wholesale sites is reliable? Or is it more of a trial and error process?

I am currently planning on moving into finding a dropshipper for genuine items, but a lot of the posts on the wholesale/dropship forum are promoting replicas and sites with chinese wholesalers.

    Is this a serious question?

Even the stuff they are manufacturing to spec for big companies is crap quality. Chinese only care about numbers...shipping units.. they rather ship 500k broken widgets then ship 100k quality widgets.

You only have to watch the news and look at how they cock everything up.

An example in my business. The lift in a garage that puts the car in the air so they can work under it.. has a hydraulic pump. First pump that came with the lift.. no exaggeration 14 years before it broke..

The put in a new one..

    8 months later broke again.

Repair man comes again.. and apologizes. Company outsourced to a factory.. in guess where? China. Half the shit they send them doesn't last a year anymore.

They never calibrate the machines that make parts to proper tolerance so the parts dont fit right.

I would find a new market, I doubt ANY large electronics distributer can give you profitable price. You are probably better off getting a newegg business account and buying their products.

Honestly if you want to drop ship, find small-mid size manufacturers/ almost completely vertical companies and talk with them about how you are a SEO GOD and can sell X amount of units on your website etc.

That is prolly because that company who outsourced didnt do their homework before going with a supplier..

They just said "here ya go mr. china, we dont need to do research on you"

I hope that company knows that they should check with the chinese government (not hard to cross reference this stuff) to make sure the business they are dealing with is legitimate...Chinese people get in trouble if they dont Provide some type of decent anything, and us over here in America Call and Complain about it.....They get shut down..

I import a few products from China, And ive gone thru 2 cycles so far of the same product from the same supplier. Havent gotten One Major Phone Call Pertaining to an issue caused by shody manufacturing, and it almost been a year since the first round of product was shipped out to customers...

As we all know if something is going to break, as in the case above, it will be within the first year.

As far as Genuine....Foxconn in china makes Apple Products... and that is genuine...But as far as being able to Get a Copy made and say its an Apple or whatever product you have....That is illegal, You dont own any copyrights to the Logo or Name...So while some iphone clones look exactly like an Iphone...Since they arent saying its an iphone but a clone/copy then thats how they get away with it...Also when a major company uses china like Apple, there are strict contracts in place to make sure that 100% of the phone isnt produced without the companies consent. Every factory in china let middlemen, who are the ones most of us get our products from, come in and get to use their assembly line at night time...

This is why there have been an influx in so many replicas everywhere on the net.

    Do your research people.....

yea right like 50% of basically all clothing, and electronics all total crap right. Including brands like apple, nike, sony etc, all pathetic cause they are made in China.

Yes I agree, some chinese need to learn business ethics and the value of long term customers. Not just a make bank and run away attitude, but you can't make sweeping generalisations.
