I found this article that lists the 20 Most Profitable Small Businesses in USA.

I thought it would be a good share for the "other online/offline hybrid" players here on BHW.

Obviously you want to target high dollar businesses because they have more money to spend on marketing.

Thanks for this list. Some surprises on and off the list. I surprised to see sales financing, portfolio management and investment advice. These are definitely "off-the-beaten-path" type niches. I'm surprised that cosmetic surgeons aren't on the list, but they are probably lumped in with physicians.

They completely missed Dry Cleaners. They have an astounding net profit margins. And, they completely missed consultants who can average 30% net profit margins.

uhm I don't see anything related to technology?
Computers must be the most profitable business ever. think about it - you create some piece of software once and then you can sell as many copies of it as you want at the cost of a blank cd (~30 cents, actual software $40+)...

Perhaps....because your post doesn't seem very lawyer-like? Certainly not an intellectual property lawyer because your comment on software doesn't track.
Also, the profit margin for computers are razor thin!

I'm suprized at the warehouse/storage unit being so high but after thinking about it a bit it makes sense. Once the building/property is paid for it wouldn't have alot of overhead. Something to add to my list of businesses to look harder at in the future.

LOL shows what everyone really knows about business. Net profit and gross profit are two completely different things.
