Hello,

any way to know if there is any way to know if a Video has copyright before to upload it?

Actually, that I do not know, but I believe if you upload it, it will say that it contains media from another source, and you can delete it afterwards.

Here is something from YouTube:
How To Make Sure Your Video Does Not Infringe Someone Else's Copyrights
The way to ensure that your video doesn't infringe someone else's copyright is to use your skills and imagination to create something completely original. It could be as simple as taping some of your friends goofing around, and as complicated as filming your own short movie with a script, actors, and the whole works. If it's all yours, you never have to worry about the copyright?you own it! Make sure to follow the other guidelines in the terms of use, too.

Upload it. Then if you get a warning message simply take it down again.

Yes, someone else has copyright to a video that ain't yours. Hardy-har-har.

But as stated, you'll get noted if the video gets recognized, and usually it gets restricted from some countries. Although, once I got message stating that "Video blocked in some countries", and clicking that showed me message "Video blocked worldwide", go figure...

Uploading things like music that is copyrighted is easy to get by if you know how to do it right. To start when you upload whatever your uploading you will usually get one of two messages the first will be Matched Third Party Content and the second will say Video Blocked in some countries. Now I am going to use music in this example and there are two ways to get by these blocks. The first is to go to the dispute form and click I want to file a dispute and then click the number 2 and paste this into the text field:

"Copyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for "fair use" for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research. Fair use is a use permitted by copyright statute that might otherwise be infringing. Non-profit, educational or personal use tips the balance in favor of fair use."

Now the second way is to use an audio editor, I use audacity and all you have to do is change the pitch by 5 and you usually will not get any of those messages and if you do use the method mentioned above with this method and then that should get the message to appear.

This works just fine for me. I have uploaded 100+ songs by artists like Lil Wayne and such and have got around those messages every single time by using these methods. If you have any questions feel free to ask but not in a pm cause this post could be helpful to other people.

itzcorky,

I did everything you mentioned and currently my video is under dispute. How long do these things generally take and I wonder if I should go with some music from say less popular Artists to get them monetized? Thanks for your post very helpful.

@itzcorky,

You're not monetizing the videos in any way, are you? I mean, going with the BS about Fair Use and then trying to get money off of CPA or whatever - as that's way past "Fair Usr".

Personally if the video I uploaded matches the "Third Party Content", I just check where it's blocked. IIRC I have only one video blocked in the States, but I left it up since it got loads of visits from Europe - but otherwise I tend to delete the videos if they're blocked in States.

I also once tried the audio editing, yet still kept having those messages occasionally, so I just srcapped the idea.
