    Default odd music niche success

few months ago i uploaded some bullshit video of a song from some popular hipster band, forgetting that it even existing, I found out today that the video has 10m views, now unfortuntly i forgot to put CPA links in the video, LUCKILY the video had ads from youtube on it (partnered account) and made a good amount of money.

just put some cpa link right now all over the video, and it's still climbing at 10,000 views daily.

moral of this post: upload in bulk; always CPA all your videos; and when you get a chance too look at all your video stats throughout all channels.

    10 million views! That's a lot!
What kind of offer did you put in the description and has it made you any money yet?
Just wondering because I have never uploaded music niche videos although I have all the software needed to do so.

I put the CPA link to a locked site to download the song, I just put it in this morning (10 mins before starting the thread) so I have yet too see results.

You better make sure the artist of that record do not catch on to the fact that your charging to download their song.

If you keep the money without cutting them in, they can take you to small claims court if they find out.

Careful with this one. If someone from the band finds your video and reports you, its over!

    Congrats Rock!! Very cool.

I don't think you'll be taken to court or anything but some of the other comments here are correct in the sense that if you try to monetize the video with anything other than adsense, you're likely to get flagged by the artist or label eventually (or a hardcore fan that doesn't want to see you making money on the band's back). If I were you, I'd take off the CPA offer and just enjoy the steady stream of Adsense $$ for as long as you can. I've found, anyway, that most music fans aren't likely to click on anything that looks like an affiliate link (they've been burned by ringtone recurrent charges and such in past).

I speak from personal experience on this. I uploaded a bulk of custom videos for new songs and had the same thing happen. Some of them got, like, zero hits (because the songs stiffed) but, I'd say, one of out every 10 or so would KILL IT with hits. At the time, I was trying to monetize by allowing viewers to download the song via FileSonic. Man, did I get flamed all to hell. I was able to spare the account by disabling the videos before it got too bad. But, in the end, I only made a few bucks, pissed off A LOT of people, got threatened with legal action from record companies (pffffttt - whatever. nothing ever came of it, of course) and I almost lost that account. Not worth it. I should have just enjoyed the Adsense cash and not got greedy.

Oh well, lesson learned. But, just passing that on for what it's worth. Regardless, congrats on the 10m views. That's HUGE!

    Eh, I guess I wasn't very clear.

The video is not the song itself, but rather just a picture going on for few minutes. and the CPA link in the description leads to the official video by the artist (the vevo youtube). There's no way i can get in trouble for this shit.
