So I was under the impression you could NOT monetize video game videos.

Yet I see channels with that. Is it not copyrighted? Like, I wouldn't be able to monetize videos of for example film previews of the 90s.

I get denied monetization for videos for using a short old video reference.

Is there any actual place where they explain what do's or don'ts when it comes to what you can actually can monetize.

I am starting to get kinda confused...Every time I think I got it figured out, something is there to mess with me ....

If the video is short then it is fine, I.e like 4 minutes. However if it is longer then it needs to have something like commentary that is instructional.

Otherwise it is just a video of a computer game and the content isn't really the uploader's to monetize. YouTube have pages explaining this now on there partner help section.
