YouTub3 Monetize?

I uploaded a video few days back to youtub3 when i logged in now i had a option to monetize that particular video.

I signed up but it asked me to sync my adsense account i had to unlink my current email id (which was yahoo) to the adsense account..then i didnt feel like using my adsense account for youtube so i unlinked it back to my original email id (yahoo) but the monetize option is still running?

Is this safe for my adsense account? or having monetize option even worth it,Can i proceed uploading videos to the account.

Can really use a reply from anyone has done this or faced this or even thought of doing it.
