Download and re-upload to Youtube, Risky?

If I download videos from youtube and reupload them to my own site is this a copyright infringement? or what do i have to do to cover myself?

I'm pretty sure you're allowed to embed them to your website with the embed code provided beside most vidoes. I have done it before though and no real worries, people just claimed they owned it and allowed me to keep the vid running because i'm advertising for myself, and them.

embed with the code youtube provide, otherwise you'r braking copyright law

LOL, right - but consider that more then half of the uploaded music videos are illegal to begin with .... stealing the stolen doesn't make it right ... but we are not here on a debate team ... and this method makes a lot of cash .... so the worst that happened until now is that YouTube takes off your video ....
