Default Bing/Yahoo Editors Have A Wild Hair Up Their Asses

Iv been with Bing for 3yrs. Same campaigns, same ads. All of a sudden my ads stopped running 2 days ago. Thinking its a technical issue i contact them via chat only to find out that my account has been flagged by an editor who has a wild hair up his/her ass. So let me get this straight. They wont flag one ad or a campaign but rather flag the entire account?

Since when? Seems they are starting to follow the step of Google and their bullshit policies. A few weeks back they flagged 2 ads and nobody could tell me why. I had to delete the campaign and start a new one. Yet, those 2 ads have been running for over 2yrs.

    Idiots.

Yep, it looks like they've increased their quality control lately. I haven't had problems with any of my ads (and hopefully won't!) but quite a few people have had their ads flagged and then removed lately.

As for flagging your account - this actually makes sense. I mean, the fact that they actually stop showing your ads while they are in review is pretty much retarded, but it does make sense to review all ads of an account if one gets automatically flagged.

The only thing we can do is hope that they remain somewhat relaxed and won't turn into Adwords.

What makes me laugh is they dont work on the weekends so fat chance of getting anyone on the weekends. Then, im told i have to wait 1 day for this to be resolved. Another day of waiting just because. The two ads they flagged a few weeks ago, well nobody, not even the editors could work out why those ads were disapproved after 2 yrs. Their system must be doing it. I mean if they couldn't work it out?

After the email reply i received from them today i can confirm that Bing/Yahoo is also starting this QS bullshit just like Google. They do not want you to send users to a landing page (bridge page) with an affiliate link on it.

In reviewing the performance of your campaigns, I can confirm that they are no longer receiving any impressions. The reason for why your ads are generating so few impressions is because Microsoft adCenter has made improvements to how we establish the quality of an ad and landing page combination in relation to the user's likely intent for a given query. We call this Quality Based Ranking (QBR). We continuously monitor all ads and landing pages with regard to the user's likely intent on Bing. QBR will affect advertisers when appropriate.

    QBR Focus:

    - Assessing the content of the ad and landing page in relation to the user's likely intent.
    - Assessing the keywords that an advertiser selects in relation to the landing page content. Keywords should be significantly relevant to the landing page and to the user's query.
    - Making sure that there is substantive content on the landing page to fulfill the user's query.
    - Making sure that landing pages directly provide the products or services that are being offered.
    - Assessing the extent to which there is duplicate advertising content on the search engine result page (SERP) and potentially limiting this advertising.

Microsoft is constantly working to improve the search experience for our users. This includes focusing on ad and landing page quality and the overall search results based on the user's likely intent.

In reviewing your account, it appears as though it has been impacted by QBR. Several of the websites you are advertising are what our Quality team considers as sites that are "made for advertising". In essence, the primary purpose of many of these websites is to direct search traffic to other sites that feature the actual product being advertised. These "review" sites do not contain enough unique information that is not already found on the websites they point to, and on some sites the content consists primarily of unsubstantiated user testimonials. Further, the privacy policies for some of your websites do not appear to be complete as an explicit opt-out is not being provided.

We understand that your account has seen a significant decrease in traffic due to this issue. We apologize and suggest you look to improve your landing pages and keywords by referring to the links below:
Here is the thing, my site is not just a one page lander. Its a full website with only 2 product reviews. The rest of the site contains 30 articles etc with hundreds of testimonials.

Yep, they are slapping advertisers like the copy cat fools they are. Beware, they wont just slap one campaign they slap the whole account.

Interesting that they would start doing this. I'll have to be careful with the ads that I put online now. Darn it!! I have a set of campaigns that are doing really really well for me right now and I would hate to lose them.

Yea happening here to.. One campaign was active when it happened. Other campaigns were paused, unpaused them and they are getting the same treatment. Sent a support ticket and got that same word for word email about the scores.

Of course, still tons of other folks out there running the same stuff, landing pages etc. Great.

What the best thing to do, scrap the whole account and start fresh again?

    Got my account reapproved today.

I already had two domains setup from a year ago but was not using them. They simply forward to the merchants landing page.

I replaced all the destination URLS with those domains
    Resubmitted for approval
    Waited 4 more days

Today i got the email from Ben @ bing

I am happy to inform you that after reviewing your ads and keywords our Quality team has reconsidered their decision, and the QBR issue that was affecting the performance of your account has been removed. In reviewing your ads today, I see that they are again generating impressions and clicks. We appreciate you taking the time to update your campaigns so that your ads and keywords better match a searcher's likely intent.

So you're saying that instead of using a landing page, you started redirecting straight to the merchant and got approved?
