Okay,

I'm just writing this post to let everyone know that Bing is not the bad place I thought it would be. I initially thought the whole Yahoo / Bing merger would be bad for my business, but to my surprise over the past couple of days its been better than what i normally experience on Yahoo!!



My click costs are ALOT lower and I'm still getting a good amount of traffic. Looking at the referrers of my offer, I can see i'm getting combined traffic from both Bing and Yahoo now.

Thanks...I just wanted to get the word out that Google is not the only game in town for good traffic. I think people tend to not use the other 2 minor search engines because of the Google perception and brand..the purpose of this post is not to brag but to show people on the forum that Adcenter w/yahoo is a good choice to check out.

Just curious is this direct linking or your own landing pages?

The niche I'm in I haven't had any competition, but now that the merger is happening. I've noticed a few affiliates showing up. No biggie because I'm still in the #1 spot with cheap clicks

With the Yahoo/Bing merger is there only one place now to sign up for advertising or can you still go to each individually? I would assume the pricing is (or shortly will be) the same, but maybe not...

@teeniegenie, yeah looks like you have to sign up through adcenter now and not through yahoo.

@jasontm: I'm direct linking to a product right now. Bing allows me to get away with direct linking (for now and prayerfully for a long time)

I'm doing trial offers believe it or not.. Although I can't tell you which ones exactly...Just know they are working well and good on bing with low competition it seems.

What is your definition of low price clicks for those offers? What was the payout and conversion on the traffic?

I see $68 to make the $510, just wondering how much traffic you got for that and what the offer paid, just to get a general idea for bing.

Black_Ice are you doing your trial offers with direct linking or do you use your own sale page and then refer to trial offer.

Supposedly Yahoo and Bing are much more lenient with the direct linking to affiliate offers, PLUS they have cheaper traffic so let's definitely all make that money while the making is good!

Also-- if you buy the book "Search Engine Advertising: Buying Your Way to the Top to Increase Sales" by Kevin Lee & Catherine Seda, there is a $200 credit in there from Bing.

Google may VERY WELL be the only game in town, and it depends on your niche. Bing and Yahoo consistently convert 80% lower in my niche then on Google. It depends on what your selling.

Im a ppc noob, but I thought you could direct link on google like for amazon products so long as no one else was already using that same url? Please correct me if im wrong

Not anymore. Those directlinkers are being taken down. If your direct linking and Google hasnt suspended or slapped your keywords yet with a QS1/10 its only a matter of time. In fact, if you try to create a direct link to a merchant site as of right now, Google wont even approve your ad.

wow! thats really good! I lost a huge chunk of my traffic when bing started powering yahoo... i used to rank well on yahoo for many keywords

No, I'm actually direct linking to the offer. I'm surprised it got approved, but its working and I'm getting leads and money each day.

You shouldnt be surprised. Bing and Yahoo allow direct linking as of right now. Its Google that doesnt.

Great!! Well I plan to milk these cows as long as they allow me too. This gives me more money to feed into other affiliate offers and an SEO site i'm planning.

Hey black ice, are you using their keyword tool to find keywords or are you importing your own?

What do you consider cheap clicks for those offers? IE- .05, .25, .35?

Yahoo/ Bing still does allow direct linking, yes. They may convert (much) less than Google, but there is still money to be made there.

I always import my own keywords generated from Market Samurai for PPC, then eliminate anything that doesn't convert.

@jay101 I would consider ALL of those to be cheap clicks.

it looks like yahoo has fully shut down their ppc program now. I'm not getting any more clicks via YSM...all my clicks are coming in from Bing now. But again, Bing is not as bad as I originally thought it would be. Yes, its a learning process, but its been profitable over the past few days.

I need a complete step by step instruction for this, I really like to try it but don't know where to start.

Obviously I'm a PPC noob.

My favorite course on PPC is from Gauher Chaudry. I think you can find it on this forum somewhere. Its called PPC Formula 2.0. I think he's about to release his 3.0 version pretty soon, but to get me started the 2.0 was good enough.

my ad done well for a few days also...im talking about spending $56 to make $500+ but then the next few days traffic was much lower and i cant find a reason for that...msn is not easy to use really and an ad i used to get a few hundreds clicks on and now i cant even get up to 10 clicks a day!

Are you talking about the amount for clicks you are getting from Yahoo? I've noticed the same so I dont even worry about getting traffic from them anymore
