Default Yahoo PPC transition to MSN? Serious?

I log into my Yahoo account and this is what i see.

As part of the Yahoo! and Microsoft Search Alliance, all Yahoo! Search Marketing advertisers will transition to using the Microsoft Advertising adCenter search application. Once the transition of your Yahoo! account to adCenter is complete, you'll have one account that will enable you to:
    # Reach up to 150 million search users combined across Yahoo! Search and Bing
    # Get up to 62% more search volume than on Yahoo! alone
    # Get more value for the time you spend managing campaigns
Before you get started, you may wish to review the following information:
Why do I have to transition to adCenter?
As part of the Yahoo! and Microsoft Search Alliance, all Yahoo! Search Marketing advertisers will transition to using the adCenter search advertising application. The Yahoo! Search Marketing application you're currently using will no longer serve ads once the transition process is complete.

It is insane. I have 1423 "Issues to resolve" before I continue. Ad titles are only allowed to have 25 characters amongst many other stupid little issues. The worst part I can't just delete the campaigns you have to fix them to continue. What a load of crap this is.

Billy has been out of the loophole, to get part of the internet pie for a long time. Now they have purchased parts of Yahoo for 44+ billion? With all the money he has he should have bought Google instead. Or was that out of his league?

Probably out of his league. I hope bing doesn't turn into google adwords where every keyword is flagged as offensive.

Thats pretty much what I am preparing for. It seems like there method of staying competitive is going to cost them a lot of customers who dont want to transition.

I had the same thing. I do email submits so I have quite a few campaigns. All of a sudden all my ad campaigns had been removed from their listings and disabled. Never been so pissed with yahoo before. I saved all my campaigns but when I import into msn adcenter they wont accept them. I am so fucking annoyed right now its not even funny.

I am afraid msn is going to be more like google than yahoo. I loved yahoo because you could get get away with so much more with them. Since this transition they have already started really cracking down.

Yeah you are preaching to the choir right now. I'm still trying to resubmit campaigns to see if they will be approved. No luck yet.

I think everyone using Yahoo SM got the same notice, including us. Microsoft adCenter is not as terrible as Adwords, but it is more like Adwords in its restrictions. We use adCenter already, so transitioning is relatively easy because we know what to do. My worry is the amount of increased competition on adCenter. We shall see.

I'm going to wait awhile before passing final judgement but it's def. a bad sign when my aged profitable campaigns in YSM are now being disallowed because of their own decision to merge. I talked to one of their reps about the transition and it was purely laughable.

I was already running in MSN but how much you wanna bet that some of the best features of YSM (allowing you to turn off auto-billing to fund manually, lower CPC's etc) and some of the best features of MSN (allowing trademark term bidding etc) will turn into just a distant memory.

    Sure hope not
