Have You Heard About This? Yahoo Killing Its "Adsense Clone"

Code:
http://hiderefer.com/?http://http://www.sfgate[dot]com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/g/a/2010/03/31/businessinsider-the-real-reason-yahoo-just-killed-its-ad-network-2010-3.DTL

I'd copy quotes from the article, but I don't think that would be discrete. The point is though there'll be no more publisher ad network after Apr 30. Thoughts?

Did anyone use it anyway? By the way, in your link to the article, I like the way that you've changed the . to [dot], made it a hide refer link, and put it in a code box.
You never can be too careful when linking to articles :ugh:

lol sooo true. I've personally never used it, but felt that maybe folks had . so why not point it out. And Jizza makes a good point - BHW uses it!

Yeah, a healthy dose of caution never hurts... ok, an excessive amount of caution never hurts lol

@jizza - the autoblog comment gave me a chuckle :)

@teguh123 - very good point. Could also be why its not even worth it for Yahoo! Seems that either folks are going with Adsense or something more "heavy duty"

Just my luck, tried to sign up for yahoo adverts like the ones here on bhw and I get this message and redirects to yahoo homepage...

The content you are attempting to access is no longer available. One moment while we redirect you...

That's both funny and unfortunate at the same time. Bummer man :(.

I'm now curious to see if they're going to give up totally or are only shutting it down in an effort to reinvent that program somehow then come back later on with a new competing model. Interesting how "the battle of search engines monetizing" is playing out :).

Well that does suck... another big player off the field. :(

Apparently they weren't really successful with it anyway. And if that was the case, it's better to have them die out then continue on giving advertisers and publishers false hope.

Common man..this monopoly of Google may eat away IM..we need a damn big player in the market thats as good as big G.

Thats very sad to hear. They werent as bitchy as google. :\
