With clickbank I have better luck with a landing page pre sell first. I usually go opt in page-presell page-sales page of product. That works well for me.

I've tried direct linking and got sales, but not as many as with the above setup.

I would have to agree.

Because there might be 100's of other affiliates direct linking and the buyer has been driven to the same landing page over and over.

I like to pre sell the customer then lead them to the page after i have let them learn more about the product.

I tried direct linking at first to the affiliate offers in clickbank because they have sales pages, with tons of traffic you will get sales and I have, but what I found is that when I send them to my site that just gives more information on the product without a hard sell and then sending them to the offer my success rate increased.

For CPA it all depends on the offer, but I still find sending the traffic to my site first giving a little bit more information increased my sales.

The entire trick is slowly convincing the buyer why they need the product or service. Put yourself in their shoes, how do you make a decision to purchase something. You read reviews, you do a little research and make a decision. Would you buy something from someone who is trying to hard sell you.

Preselling is the key!!

Little late, but preselling is definitely the key to success. I don't think one very successful IM'er just simply direct links to offers. Even if you don't have a landing page, at least get their email then send them to the product page. A large email list = $$$$

Yeah, I completely agree with you.

Tried direct linking with CPA and Clickbank but didn't have great success. But when I started to use landing pages things were going really well. However, landing pages are an art per se. A lot of testing is required before see decent profits.

You definitely need a landing page to make more money imo.

You can be successful with direct linking but you have to select the right keywords. I'll give you some gold here that used to work for me on adwords. Direct link to the product when bidding on product name keywords and get yourself to number 1 position. If a product is hot, people will be searching by name and will click on the first ad that they see to buy. i used to get 15-20% CTR and about150% ROI. You will get into some bidding wars though and that's what eventually drove me out. It got to be a headache bidding against the newest johnny come lately or blackhatter with his 100 dollar adwords coupon.

Direct linking is almost always best used when initially testing an offer or niche. If I pick up a lead or two with my first 30-50 testing clicks (PPC) by just direct linking, I then get an LP together for it asap. In all of the niches I have campaigns in, the total leads per day are 4-5 times higher with a LP than when just direct linking.

i use direct link with a AU date offers on yahoo.the ROI more than 300%.
