yahoo search marketing question
Hello,
I am new here , so this is my first post
. I need some advice regarding my YSM account.
I signed up few weeks ago (too bad i didn't use any of these YSM codes, just found it on this section
)
I promote a specific program and when i started, there was no competition (very few). I started to make few bucks until this guy copied my ads and started to promote the same url too. He have his ads displayed and mine are gone.
Now is the question:
I guess he bid much more than me (i think is 4$).
If i bid for example $ 1.02 he will pay like 1.03 per click? Because i want to take this guy out. Have someone any tips to make this guy pay more and take him out?
Any other suggestions are welcome and i thank you in advance.

Re: yahoo search marketing question
what you need to do is to optimized your landing pages according with the keywords that you are promoting, so this way you can get higher ranking than him,
here are the steps:
1.Good content related with your keywords
2.site map.
3.contact us page
4.about us page.
this for sure will help you to get higher rankings and paying less.

thanks, but:
we both promote exactly the same site / using the same Referral URL (ok, the affiliate code is different) - the landing page is only one , we send the visitors to the same site / same page. The keywords are the name of the site and variations / some misspellings etc.
He bid higher than me, and since YSM (like Adwords) accepts only 1 url / 1 ad on the search results ads, i guess he pay much more and have his ads displayed instead of mine.
My question is how to hurt his budget, and take back my positions.
I apologize for my incoherency , my English is not perfect "

Re: yahoo search marketing question
You can try invalid display url's if the display url actually goes to your page. for example, sometime .net will go to .com ... or other variations of the domain. Eventually though, yahoo will crack down.
Best way is to make your own landing page on your own domain, redirect visitors to the merchant and try to get their emails. Continue emailing them every week with offers from the merchant. Emails don't cost a thing and can generate sales too...
