My quality method is not paying off
Hey guys,
Been ranking different sites over the passed few years. Mainly for learning and experimenting. Some was white hat some was black hat. These days I am mainly white hat with a bit of black right at the bottom.
I have been looking after my friends website and I can get a result in the serps. So I am after an opinion as to what the problem is, what I may be doing wrong etc. I use whatsmyserp and it is still know where in the first 30 pages of googlecouk. The site is approximately 4 months old and these keywords should not be the most difficult. The created backlinks have been mixed to different pages, not all keyword contextual etc for variations. Below I have laid out all the work done in the last two months seo wise:
Website: Good onsite seo (done by established professional web company)
Keyword 1: contemporary kitchen design (uk)
keyword 2: bespoke fitted kitchens (uk)
Backlinking so far:
(all content completely original and quality written by me unless other wise stated, know article used more than once on anything)
Articles submitted:
1 x ezine
1x goarticles
1x sooper
Web 2's created
Blogspot 2 x articles
Squidoo 1 x lense
Tumblr 2 x articles
Wordpress 2 x articles
Fotki 2 x post
Xanga 2 x article
Tripod 1 x article
Jimdo x 1 article
Blogrolls
1 related with only 5 other links on the roll, PR3
1 General quite a few outbound PR4
Geust posts with links
7 different sites, all related and minimum PR1
Document sites
Slideshare,scribd,viewdocs,yudu,flipsnack,issuu
Feeder sites
1 feeder site created (2 weeks old) with 3 articles so far
All the above (accept the money site) then received a full senuke blast using an original article with 60% spin for web'2s, different yet spun article for article sites, another spun for press release, another spun for docs. Bookmarks,Web profiles and forum links created in the blast (basicly everything senuke could create).
This senuke blast and ONLY these senuke links then received a scrapebox blast followed by and xrumer blast.
Any advice is great because this may help me and many others who are trying to earn a little from what they've learned, tweek their techniques to get that bit more from them.

Re: My quality method is not paying off
You may have done too much to be honest. Maybe chill on the linkbuilding for a bit.
Web 2.0s need time to mature. one or two articles is weak though. Pump in some fresh articles and videos and keep them current.
Whats your social like. I dont see any mention of your facebookl/Twitter/Instagram/Pinterest.
G+ and Google places are important on a business type site
Get some videos made and put them on your youtube channel... cheaper than it sounds theres some good guys on here doing nice vids for $30-$50
Blog commenting and contextual links are still the cheapest bump in the book and they consistently work. (in small thought out drips)

Re: My quality method is not paying off
Sorry forgot to mention the social is being teken care of by his marketing guru for now. As for videos all web2's etc have videos on them some from the money site you tube channel and others uploaded to create diversity (the same with images, as does the site, and you tube. The videos are all high end filmed and produced by a production company (this aint mickey mouse) so the youtube channel has around 15 high quality videos on it. The only fault their being his social guy uploaded them up in one go instead of spreading them out into a development.
So I guess then I should just keep boosting the web2's with content and the feedersite. I was thinking from this point adding 1 new web 2 site per month and 1 new feeder site per 3 months aswell as more diversified link building and fresh content all round on the other web2's. As for guest blogging I never skip an opportunity to do a guest post on a related site so do you think I can do those whenever they come up.

Re: My quality method is not paying off
I think you have the budget there to be talking to a professional for a complete evaluation. The only thing that worries me is that you have promoted the site too hards at an early age..
Ive put plenty of sites on the front page of co.uk. I wouldnt be going mad on link building and blasts. I only ever build 3-4 quality 2.0s bloggr-tumblr-bravesites-wordpress. I would rather have 2 good 2.0s than a stream of generics.
But yeah if you are not in the top 300 there must be a problem.

Re: My quality method is not paying off
As Duffers5000 said you probably set of some alarms too early.
But for the longer term you need to look at the link profile of your niche. Have a look at what your competitors have for links. If most of the front runners have links you don't have then you will stick out like a sore thumb.
all of the above mentioned links aren't bad, but for a new site in that niche maybe not the best. You probably should have started out with some high quality directories, business profiles etc.
You should also be looking at branded keywords/url anchors.

Re: My quality method is not paying off
I see, that makes sense.
Ive put plenty of sites on the front page of co.uk. I wouldnt be going mad on link building and blasts. I only ever build 3-4 quality 2.0s bloggr-tumblr-bravesites-wordpress. I would rather have 2 good 2.0s than a stream of generics.
Dont get me wrong Duffers these web2'0s are quality with proper content, each one is based in kitchen design etc but each one has its own topic direction ie one covers design styles, another is how to diy fit, another is appliances, but maybe I should just leave at these 8 I have created. Update some more frequent than others etc.
My 2's really are quality as are the blog posts so am I right in thinking that these perhaps are not a waste but simply keep giiving the web2's content and now chase some quality directory links and profiles.
My original idea you see was to start off gentle of course so I wrote plenty of content and slowly built these 2's and then I had great opportunities of blog posts so I done them. I used the articles to help index his site. I think i maybe got carried away but I was kind of hoping that great quality unique content would go in my favor.
I also wanted to build this what I would refer to as a "back catalogue" of typical links to give me a little foundation.
Bottom line is though it aint worked has it.
I think I will keep this thread running and mark my progress to see what kind of turn around the great advice will bring because this is a serious project and if you guys help me nail it there is a lot for me and others to take away from it.

Re: My quality method is not paying off
Please define what-
'good on site seo'
actually means.
I have never had a single client with ranking problems that didn't have a host of on site problems - professionally built or not!

Re: My quality method is not paying off
'Good on site seo' means good, the checklist is fully ticked. Not perfect but that is because it is a site that does not and can not have a ton of text keyword optimized content but it does of course have some unique keyword optimized content. It can of course still have the correct metas, image alts, no dead links, perfect interanl linking structures, robot and xml maps etc etc but it will always be skinny on the keyword text. Now we do not need to focus massively right now on the on site seo. I agree this can always be a factor but I would like to say a site like this may have to look harder and compromise its quality looks and feel when its stuck on page 5 in the serps. Its a great site with good on site seo so this does not bother me. The not being in the first 30 pages does.
Like I say whats bugging is I get a reaction in ranking stuff no probs, this one though I am scratching my head at
