I made a new site 6 months ago. It's a nice site, looks great and genuinely has some really useful, good and unique content. Problem is Google hasn't indexed it! At all. If I type the exact url into Google it returns NOTHING. I don't know why and it's starting to really annoy me now. I was hoping some of you good folk might be able to offer some advice. Here's some background on the site:
It's been online 6 months (not just online, not an empty shell of a site but a fully finished design and decent, consistent content creation)
I've submitted it to be crawled by Google at least twice in the past few months.
Both Yahoo and Bing have crawled and indexed it.
It's Wordpress, fully updated and with XML sitemap, SEO plugins, w3 optmizer
It is a .net (although I wouldn't have thought this should make too much difference?)
I am in the process of implementing a proper SEO strategy. But there are already multiple links into the website from a variety of sources (social, web 2.0, straight up site links, some placed by me and some natural)
Submitted to several directories, both 'general' big ones and ones that cater for my niche.
I have Facebook and Twitter pages with links back
I have NO adverts whatsoever.
I have, at most, 2 external links on each page (and many have none)
Lots of internal linking
It's honestly a really good site from a user perspective and I just don't know why Google doesn't like it, but it's incredibly frustrating because I've put so much work into it. I've never had this problem before, even years back when I have made some awful looking sites full of typos and with no promotion or SEO at all, Google has picked them up within a week or two at most.
I'd really appreciate any advice to help with my problem. Thank you!
