What's Google's Problem?

I made a new site 6 months ago. It's a nice site, looks great and genuinely has some really useful, good and unique content. Problem is Google hasn't indexed it! At all. If I type the exact url into Google it returns NOTHING. I don't know why and it's starting to really annoy me now. I was hoping some of you good folk might be able to offer some advice. Here's some background on the site:

It's been online 6 months (not just online, not an empty shell of a site but a fully finished design and decent, consistent content creation)
I've submitted it to be crawled by Google at least twice in the past few months.
Both Yahoo and Bing have crawled and indexed it.
It's Wordpress, fully updated and with XML sitemap, SEO plugins, w3 optmizer
It is a .net (although I wouldn't have thought this should make too much difference?)
I am in the process of implementing a proper SEO strategy. But there are already multiple links into the website from a variety of sources (social, web 2.0, straight up site links, some placed by me and some natural)
Submitted to several directories, both 'general' big ones and ones that cater for my niche.
I have Facebook and Twitter pages with links back
I have NO adverts whatsoever.
I have, at most, 2 external links on each page (and many have none)
Lots of internal linking

It's honestly a really good site from a user perspective and I just don't know why Google doesn't like it, but it's incredibly frustrating because I've put so much work into it. I've never had this problem before, even years back when I have made some awful looking sites full of typos and with no promotion or SEO at all, Google has picked them up within a week or two at most.

I'd really appreciate any advice to help with my problem. Thank you!

What is google returning when you do a following search on google

info:yourdomainname.com

IS it dropped domain that u just register [if yes then may be penalized]?

Moreover sometime google dont indexed some specific domains i had also experience of facing same problem still my site not indexed its like 10th month

Maybe domain is blacklisted, apply for reconsideration.. This assuming your robot file or the index/noindex html tags are proper..

Thanks for the quick reply. Robots.txt file is present and I looks fine, only disallowing admin pages etc. Vast majority of links are do-f0llow and site is do-index. Or at least is is set up like that in the wordpress privacy options. I can't see any plugins that would be conflicting with that setting, I've had a good look through the SEO plugin and all looks ok.

Is there a diagnostic site I could put the URL in that might bring up relevant problems? Also, if it was set to no-index wouldn't Bing and Yahoo have ignored it too?

Do you mean is it a site that was previously registered with someone else? I don't think so. I'd have thought if that was the case then I would have returned at least something when searching for the url before. Is there somewhere I can double check? Or check if it may have been blacklisted? I don't see why it would have been though, I've not done anything remotely black hat with it.

Are you able to fetch the site with GoogleBot in WMT? I've had some sites that just weren't accessible for GoogleBot for whatever the reason for few first days, while other sites on the same server were fine - although I would never wait even a month to seriously look into that.

This would be my first guess. You can check with any whois site; I like whois.sc

I just checked and it looks like it has been owned by several people in the past which I found surprising given that the niche has only been around a few years. I guess it probably has been blacklisted then! :(

Thanks for the replies everyone, will see if I can fix all this now! I hope so...

edit: Checked with www.metricintent.com/free-seo-tools/google-blacklist-checker/ and it's telling me it is definitely banned.

You can also check your domain here and see when it was first registered and archive records...

http://whois.domaintools.com/

notice the following line...it will show when domain was first registered...

Whois History: XX records have been archived since XXXX-XX-XX .

check carefully your site is it goes black hat? or build some high pr backlinks
CHEERS

You can check to see if your site is blacklisted at Sucuri. (You'll have to search for it, I can't post links). It'll also check if your site has malware or if its been hacked previously.
