Hello all, I'm new to IM, SEO and so forth, but I quit my cube job nearly two years ago and started my own software company. Now I make enough money selling my boring software to boring companies, putting up with 3am 'I set fire to something' calls from my customers.
I want to start moving in a different direction. So I'm going to spend a single hour before bed working at it. My idea is to build a single Authoritative site centered around several large niches which are all of interest to several groups of people. I have lists of 1000's of long tail key words, hundreds of affiliates, the possibility of selling products through drop shipping or even relabeling. Currently the content for the niches is found through word of mouth and forums. But there are many online stores doing a great trade and small IM sites, most of which got bumped down a lot after panda.
What I want to ask: Is it viable to create a single huge content site centered around a group of related niches?
The traffic flow is there, the buying power is there, the interest is there, what else do I need? Would it be worth it financially to spend one hour writing articles, building a subscriber list and managing the site?
I don't think I can stand to write articles or manage niche sites for subjects I'm not interested in, this subject is something I enjoy.
Cheers
