Sometimes you don't have to convince people to (buy)/download your password, because they can easily jump to another 'flower'. What you need to do, is to give them almost no choice, and to make them consider a better deal to download your file(password) rather than downloading from another source the entire movie or software.

This can be applied either with your own CPA site, you ShareCash account or whatever.

Let's consider a movie. Download it, make sure it's something very new , rare, catchy.. or even a serial~ etc

-find a video splitter software, cut that movie right in the middle of the fking final action (somewhere around 70% is where the movies attracts most of the viewers interest) Split it right there.
-put the 2nd part(final action of the movie, half of the movie isn't recommended caz of the size.. will explain later) in an archive, rename it as SURPRISE and put a password on it.
-now, let the first part which should be 70% of the movie, let it untouched (without any password) and watermark right where the movie gets stopped/or joint it with a new lil vid, where you say that if they want to see the continuation of the movie in less than 60 seconds, they must open that archive~get the password etc.. Here is where u can use your intelligence to make the people feel not insulted, even if they are full of rage.

Most of the people, if the movie would be stopped in a very critical moment, they would do anything to see the rest of the movie in 1 minute, rather than looking for where to download it again.

Or you could just upload the 1st part and host the 2nd part on your site or on somewhere else, and put in your locked content the link from where to dl the rest.. but that's a bit more complicated for a raged person

Long story short: Split a movie right where the action is at climax (70%--30%~) , password the 2nd part, show at the ending of 1st part from where to download the pass in order to see the rest of the movie.

do you think this would also work with ebooks where you only let them read 70% and than have the rest under lock. Or does this only work with movies ?

It might help you, but you should let them see only 30% ~ and also you need to know that whatever you are giving, worth reading

That is an interesting take on the torrents method.

This is just a basic method, and it does need a twist or some thinking. It's all about making people wanting something they might look after

Upload famous bluray movies and add password to the last rar file

And watch the money flow in

Yes, most networks don't allow torrent traffic/copyrighted content.

This is a good method, i got an idea to twist this which shouldnt get it deleted by the torrent sites so fast.

The only problem with torrents is alot of the sites can detect passworded zip files automatically so you lose your account before its been downloaded.

Unless anyone else know of any better sites to upload to?

If you have an account with mgcash they have a little tool called File Locker Wizzard.

It simply transforms any type of file in an exe and it is locked and they cant unrar only after they complete an offer

This will do the trick that OP describes above.

I think this method is not very effective - you dont "play" with the feelings of the persons, if they find a locked .exe file they likely search at another place for the file.
The point of madruga's thread is to play with the feelings/rage of the downloader and i think that can be very profitable.

The only problem is that people when see that the movie is uncompleted they post comments to your torrent so it will be deleted..

So, hope many people start to download your torrent so your connection shares the torrent to many people simultaneously so they will get the torrent all together so you have the chance for your torrent will not be considered as unwanted fast!

I think most torrent users are too sophisticated to fall for this. It doesn't take long to check the DL for a suspicious amount of .rar files.

Besides, people DO leave comments when they feel ripped off, cheated, etc.

if we say the torrent sites are deleting the torrents having password kind of file, do the following it will work like charm!:

upload the second part to mediafire and password protect that 2nd video.

When the First part of the video is just getting ended, edit that part and give them 2 links(use watermark as OP said)
1.The download link of the 2nd part
2.And the link to the mediafire password file.

try this pirates, i cant try this because my net speed is like crazy, holy 10kbps it will take ages to upload them..
