Google loves them so you can use them to get more links to your money page and they can rank very well in the search engines.

Squidoo allows you to make a page that can act as a feeder into your money site. It can be overly otpimized with keyterms and piggy back on the PR from the root domain. As far as I know they are also still 'do-follow' so this link juice will flow to your money site. There is a large debate about linking and ********/nofollow so it depends on which school of thought your in.

One of the points of web 2.0 etc.. is to get link backs to your site to raise your rankings in the SE. Linkbacks.
Yes, you will get some traffic from them and maybe some buyers as well.
