$10k for Facebook Fan Pages with 2M fans?

I bought 2 facebook fan pages for $10k in January and sold them to a company for $35k in February.
All I did was to add a lot of content using images from tumblr, we heart it, other facebook fan pages and added a lot of fans in 2 months.

The fan page had 75% females from US and that is what the company was looking to target.

Well if you guys need any help, advice or suggestions regarding fan pages, feel free to ask.

how close were you with the people selling the page? i mean anybody can run away with 10k$

I used escrow.com, everything went smooth.

How would you build up the follower base from almost 0 followers?

So you bought a fanpage that already had 2M active users - where did you get it from?
And did you really only add more content to the page? how did you increase your audience so dramatically that you could sell your page for 35k just one month after you got it?

How do you determine the value of your fan pages that you buy? what all factors do you base it on?

Question: You mentioned you bought fanpages *fans included*. My question is have you ever built a fanpage from square one and if so what would be a few nuggets you learned?

I am also interested to find out where you found the buyer for this page.

There was a flippa listing for a humour website which also included facebook fan pages.

Flippa.com listing. I only bought fan pages as the website wasn't of any value. The person was driving traffic to website using fan pages.

In my case, the company approached me asking if I can do a 2 day campaign for them for $2k, at that point I convinced them buying the fan pages made more sense to them. I don't think there's any particular way of finding them.

It already had 1.75M fans when I bought it, I just added 50k fans in 2 months.

I've already answered parts of your questions above.
The answer to last questions is - I knew the person who was selling me these fans was under valuing it, I did have to do a lot of negotiation.
The person who wanted this page was spending a lot of money on facebook ads, he was sure he would make much more than $35k from these pages. So I didn't have to convince him a lot.

Fan demographics - Must be US or other developed countries.
Fan age - must be above 18.
People Talking About this - Determines active fans.

We basically want people who will buy stuff from your site.

you could give it a try, they have some good pages for reasonable prices.

Google that. It will probably lead you to warrior forum and BHW. There are a lot of useful threads.
I've heard of guys who use viral scripts to get a huge amount of fans in short time, but I haven't used them personally.

If you sell your page to people who are going to make money by driving traffic to their website, they won't be making a lot of money and in that case, they won't be offering you more money for your page.
In my case, I was dealing with a person who was spending a lot of money on facebook ads and was selling a high demand product.
You might want to approach some gaming forum or gaming group who might pay you to divert traffic to their forum/website.

When I make investments, I do it purely for good returns.
I saw an opportunity when the guys was selling that page for a price lower than its market value. To be honest, I would have sold the pages for $15k if someone would have offered me that.
And no I haven't build any page(s) myself, I would rather buy a page and take it from there.

Call me a cynic, but I highly doubt he was spending $10k a day on fb ads... Or if he was, it wasn't an 'always on' strategy.

It's still there in my savings accounts. I have everything I need right now. Keeping it for rainy days.
