What converts with twitter?

I'm wondering because I can get thousands of views a day spamming twitpic comments and what not, but nothing seems to really convert with them.

Thats because 90% of twitpic is 13 year old girls waiting for the next justin bieber, kim kardashian, or lady gaga photo
to post, and while they have horrible taste in just about everything, they're web savvy enough to recognize affiliate offers..

Check out the demographic of the users and see what is their favorite topics. Looks like some free offers from CPA networks would work.

Pretty much only free CPA shit, you won't have much luck getting twitter users to get out the credit card. Also a large proportion of twitter traffic is mobiles so your offer has to look good on a mobile browser.

Thanks a lot for the info guys. I just haven't found a cpa offer that converts. I tried dating, as well as mobile offers.. Maybe I need to get a justin bieber page or something.

Try offering free shit of some kind. Most twitter users are mobile-savvy enough to use a twitter client on their phone so they don't tend to fall for scammy mobile shit. Bear in mind that unless you have specifically built your followers list to be US-based, you will have followers from all over the world so your conversions on country specific offers (ie 99% of CPA offers) will be poor.

It's hard to make money on Twitter, even with loads of views. Also use offers that match your traffic demographics.

I'm getting around 100 new followers a day, many of which I'm not needing to follow back.

But monetising (I'm in the UK) isn't easy.

I've read that Adsense is supposed to work well, but I've not found that so far.

One of my blogs is very younger generation targeted so agree that in this instance, they're unlikely to get their credit card and purchase something from eg Amazon. But that's not to say slightly older Twitter users wouldn't?

I'm now thinking i-tunes could work well, so will be testing that next. Maybe you could try that?

I've heard that the amazon affiliate program works well for twitter, I might try that..

Depends on the age group you're targeting.

I'm hoping if you're targeting a theme where the targeted customers tend to deal with online purchasing then you should get more luck.

How about becoming an authority in a particular hot niche and driving traffic to your website full of content? Stick AdSense ads at the right places (consider mobile phone users as well), and go make some moolah-cents. Sounds good?

I must admit, I've not considered mobile phone users with regards to Adsense.

It maybe why my CTR is pretty poor. Anything to tweak/change to make Adsense viewable on mobiles? Maybe certain sized Ads is best?
