Default myspace advertising

myspace now has its own ad service that will promote your myspace page for you. be it personal/business/music, they promote on a ppc basis on myspace itself. this sounds like a good solution to get around having to enter captchas for friend adders, if you want to pay for their service. i would like to know some of your thoughts on this for using it for blackhat purposes.

Be nice. He could have not told you about it at all. What then?

Here an article by PC world about it http://www.pcworld.com/article/13927...d_service.html

Its officially called SelfServe by MySpace

AOL, FaceBook and a few others are using this as well (if this is what your talking about).

I copied this from another site:
MySpace SelfServe will start as a private beta before the end of the year (a handful of advertisers have already been testing the platform since July) and will be publicly available by early 2008. It’s a shame that it won’t be rolled out ready for the holiday shopping season. The ads will appear on user profiles and both image and text based options will be available.

Advertisers will be able to target based on geographic, age demographic, and user interest. Ten bucks will get you in the game and while the service will evolve into an auction based setup, initially it will run on a fixed cost per click. Pricing will depend on category, of which there will be around a thousand, plus sub-categories.

Official link? There isint one right now. If I find the link Ill post it

AlphaBeta, yours link are referring to placing advertising banners generically across myspace. The thread starter is referring to advertising a single myspace page.

Two cpa networks emailed me this week plugging MySpace's new advertising system. I placed an ad last night and I'm still waiting to find out if it is approved.

no, thats the right page. you create ads and banners and myspace places them in the targeted area of your choice and when somebody clicks on the banner ad it links back to your myspace profile(music or business)

this is whats listed under pricing:

You determine your budget and tell us how much you’re willing to spend. For instance, you can set a budget of $25 and a cost of $0.25 for each click on your ad.

Your ad views are free! The only time you get charged is if someone clicks on the ad.

You will never be charged more than you enter for your budget!

It's bid based, but the minimum CPC is $.25.
