What exactly is myblog*log.com Is it something that I should definitely use for marketing reasons. Or is it another soso site.

From the first page it looks like a group community social site.. So yeah you could use it for that purpose.

What I like in MBL that you can embed their "visitors" widget on your blog and watch how they come and read your posts. Then you check their profiles and blogs and your avatar appears on their blogs and so on. Yes, it's all about communities.

Another side of MBL - is their stat system.

MyBlogLog links can get some nice rankings in the search engine results.

mybloglog, is a very unique concept. its very simple, when you become a member of mybloglog then each time you visit blog which has mybloglog widget, then it will show your avatar in their widget

and the best is, you can cheat it very simple

-first get a big list of Blogs with that MBL widget.
-than create HMTL pages with iframes of this blogs.
-now redirect this pages in a loop

just let it run automatic in a new browser window.

so you can spreed your avatar on a huge amount of blogs without visiting them by your self and may receive some traffic.

That works not only with MBL, there are some other SCs and traffic exchanges where you can do that.

I did a Google search for blogs with the widget in them and then visited about 100 of them in half an hour. The next morning my profile views had increased by over 300.

I think the search I used was something like....

mybloglog "Recent Readers"

then I started around #30 in the SERPs because the first results are actually about the widget rather than just having it on the page.

If you are referring to stuffing via profile views, I'd be interested to hear about that too. They have gone to great lengths to block vectors that would give users control over any HTML or CSS.
