so i heard about doing SEO over twitter or facebook but haven't even heard the term seo til about 2.5 hours ago. anyways, i'm not sure how this ad thing works, and was hoping someone could help me out or correct me. so far, this is what i've got

you create a blog of a certain groups interest, for example men looking for hot women. then you post ads from adsense or bidvertise on that site. then, you create a twitter account, or i guess any social networking for that matter with a decent amount of friends/followers, and post links to that blog every couple of hours in hopes they click your ads? what im not understanding is what if the advertisements dont relate to what your target audience is looking for? do you just hope every now and then some dating ad will pop up? or do the adsense and such ads actually relate with what you blog about? or is the blogging website literally just to be signed up to adsense while really you just copy/paste those links into a bot or manually for the social networking site and it still gets linked to the adsense account? if it is straight through the blogs, do you have to pay for a host site for that blog or can it be any free blog site like google's blogger for example? sorry for being such a noob, it's just been really hard finding a noob of noobs guide in the forums without stumbling into more posts i need to research to understand the previous posts...etc...thank you much in advance for any help/hints/advice you guys/gals can give me

Go the the white hat SEO section and read everything you can, you can also google Learn SEO and stuff like that. SEO Has nothing to do with adsense ads... You can optimize an ad but not seo it.

but...isn't seo 'search engine optimization'...

Yes SEO is search engine optimization...it is a technique using which you can improve your rankings on various search engines like Google. There is lot more information available online. If you need any help let me know...will help you out :-)
