Well I've been using twitter the blackhat way, and my results are actually not that great. I don't see the amount of traffic I get from other web 2.0 properties (like stumble or digg).
On the other hand it's really easy to use twitter completely automated (add friends & posting mostly ).

Sry but I write my bots myself most of the time. Just take a look at i*Macros (you can get the expensive version cracked somewhere here) in combination with excel for simpler tasks like adding links and submitting sites.
Or Autoit and Autoit Recorder to make it really simple

Place your twitter code on your blogs as well as on mybloglog.com (open an account). Mybloglog has high PR rank.
