    Default Investing In Flipped Sites

So I'm a student doing my research year so I don't have a particular lot of time, but not so pushed I couldn't do an hour or so of work a night to maintain an already established site which doesn't require high maintenance.

How is investing in already established sites for something like that? I know through Flipping Enterprises they have various sites on offer advertising little work, but can you truly maintain income figures for 3-4 years for such little work?

If so, wouldn't it be possible to take out a loan and make that money back whilst still earning from the site?

    Running a few ideas.....

yeah if you know what you doing taking a loan can for sure speed things up. but i would make a plan that i can see works first then start investing into it. in your case i would try ranking a site first. and maintaining at #1 then investing into implementing the same strategy on a larger scale with more sites!

My ides for investing is because I am not too good at building, but I can sure as heck maintain them with a little bit of advice now and then (That's what BHW is for right), and would be even better if the former owner provides a list of what they've already done.

It is just I see there are plenty of sites with great profits for their price - surely people could make a living just investing in them, maybe even be a millionaire from an hour or two?

Its wishful thinking to be a millionaire with just 1 or 2 hours effort. It may happen as a miracle once in a decade most probably.

If you're no good at building sites, buying an established site takes out the learning curve and requires a different skill set.

I know plenty of millionaires who have ONLY bought businesses and never created one from scratch.

Without being biased about our own sites, I can tell you we don't bullshit about the time a site takes to run. There is a risk buying any site, so always make sure you are aware of what work is required and where it can be outsourced (BHW is a great start for anything SEO related).

You hope to buy not only an online business but the blue print for replicating it (know-how). If you are dedicated and can afford to lose the money it's a smart way to learn what works fast.

But thinking you can do it here an there is destined to failure.

One day you can get away with little work but this is when you have all of the know-how and you have a diversified empire (and people supporting it).

I would suggest flipping domains rather than sites . Domains are very cheap and you can buy about 200 domains just make sure these domains are either error names or very attractive names for example blackhatword notice this doesn't have "L" . Typos generate lots of traffic and you can either park your domains or if your domain names are very nice and Unique then you can just sell them right away , I read an article on how someone sold a domain for $20,000 or something so I also plan on selling a domain name to a magazine company lol wish me luck.

Don't you risk trademark issues with that approach ?

Yes you do risk an infringement, which means if they take it to court and can show, they own the trademarked name, the site has to be passed to them. This also can be the case, if they can prove to the judge that your site is monetizing simply of a mis-spelling of their name. However I do also hear, that often to save all this hastle, the companies buy the domains off the registrar. I seem to remember reading the multi-millionaire domainer; Kevin Ham managed to purchase goggle when google first emerged, it didn't do him any harm.
