Negative Feedback Recieved Due To A PR Drop
I sold a site 6 months ago in which time the pagerank dropped from a PR4 to a PR2.
A few days ago I recieved negative feedback on flippa with the following now showing on my account: Lost its PR - its now a PR2
I not once mentioned on the listing that I would maintain the pagerank yet after contacting flippa they refused to remove the negative feedback.
I do not know what to do in this situation as keeping a 100% positive feedback is very important to me which is the reason why I offer lifetime support with all of my sales.
It seems that the only way to remove the negative feedback is to ask the buyer to ask for the feedback to be removed which would more than likely involve me refunding the sale.
I could create a brand new account but I currently have 37 transaction which shows that i'm a trusted seller. Also I'm not sure if i'm allowed to create another account.
After contacting flippa they confirmed that they would not remove the negative feedback.
Any advice on this would be appreciated

Re: Negative Feedback Recieved Due To A PR Drop
Did you buy a dropped domain and not declare it?
Was there anything else about the domain you didn't disclose in the auction?
I'm assuming this feedback is "site quality feedback" not "transaction feedback".
If it's site quality feedback, this was one of my main concerns I expressed to Flippa when they released it - uncontrollable variables.
I'd need some more info before telling you the best thing to do, though.

Re: Negative Feedback Recieved Due To A PR Drop
Yes all sites that I sell are on dropped domains and have valid pagerank that I physically check before purchasing. I was unaware that I had to declare it being a dropped domain.
There is no difference in people selling PR websites and then removing the links that point to the domains.
The buyer has not added any content to the site in 6 months and I’m assuming new links were not built to the site either.
Maybe I should build new links to the site so the site goes back upto a PR4, that’s just crazy.
I guess the same applies to people that sell sites with profit. Nobody is going to guarantee the same profit each month.

Yep, I agree. These were my concerns when they brought it in. These are variables outside of your control.
If I were you, send in another ticket and ask for it to be escalated to Andrew or Dave.
Just say that as this is a variable outside of your control that the feedback should be removed. You have no control over what the buyer does post-purchase, so if the PR drops, that's on them. I would keep pushing until it is removed, as I feel your feedback is unfair.

Re: Negative Feedback Recieved Due To A PR Drop
Ok I am now awaiting Flippa's response after writing this:
Hello,
I would like to escalate this to either Andrew or Dave.
Google Pagerank is a variable that is out side of my control which you clearly displayed on my flippa listing. I have no control of what the buyer does and if you go to the site you will see about 20 external links have been placed on the site. The pagerank is being diluted externally to those spam looking sites.
Google has rightfully devalued the pagerank and I am being punished for it.
I am appealing to you to please remove the negative feedback from my account.
Kind Regards
Tim

Why does Flippa add such things? It is really frustrating for a seller and he can't do anything about it after sale is done.

I don't know, really. I never liked the idea from day one. I've sold a lot of sites on Flippa, and even though they are established, I would not want to put any sort of guarantee on where the site will be in 6 months.

If some old players like you may contact Flippa policy makers collectively to raise concerns about this, it may be altered by them hopefully or at least they will consider it in future if such concern is repeatedly reported.

Whilst they are always keen to get my feedback, it doesn't mean they do everything I say
I agree with some changes and disagree with others. I personally haven't had many issues with the additional feedback system, but I still don't like the idea of it. I'm sure if they got a lot of complaints about dodgy feedback they might look into it, but from what I've seen, most people don't bother to come back and leave feedback 6 months down the line.

So Flippa is going to be like that unless it reviews its policies very often.

They won't review anything if people don't actively complain. Bitching on a forum isn't going to get you very far.
I also can't see them removing something after it has been implemented, especially if it was something to increase their bottom line. They are well aware certain changes will piss off users, but it's trade off between making more money and keeping people happy. And if there's one thing I know about Flippa, they like their money

That is great! - It's nice to know that if you really do have a case then they are big enough to reverse their previous decisions .... If only some of the bigger companies did the same!
