Flipping my first site. Should I try to get some feedback first?
Hey everyone,
First off, happy new years!
Now, this is going to be the first site I'm flipping. This is not a "how much is my site worth" thread (but you're welcome to tell me what you think I could sell my site for. I'll list details below).
Started the site in September of 2011 (near the middle of the month). It's a micro niche site, EMD.
- September - 150 uniques - Earned $15 (Adsense)
- October - 450 uniques - Earned $56 (Adsense)
- November - 740 uniques - Earned $90 (Adsense)
- December - 1400 uniques - Earned $230 (Adsense)
Now, I really need the money from flipping this, but here is my concern; I've never sold on Flippa before, thus my site has little feedback. I figure that it will cause people to not pay as much for the site (correct me if I'm wrong).
I do have a few micro niche sites (that aren't earning)..would it maybe be a good idea to list those and sell them, just to get some feedback on Flippa, prior to selling this site?
Any other advice?

I would say it's not necessary to have feedback before your first sale, i have seen a number of websites earning more money than yours, listed for sale by a brand new seller with no feedback.
I think the key to your websites successful sale is integrity. Ensure you complete as much Flippa verification as possible, provide every ounce of information you would assume a buyer would want to see, offer to talk to potential buyers on the phone/skype etc.
As a buyer i wouldn't care if the seller was new as long as i could see and feel honesty and integrity in the sales pitch and subsequent responses to questioning.
Of course you may want to sell some of your lesser sites to learn a little about the sales process, this in turn will give you some more feedback and a little more credibility - it won't hurt to do this!
Others may feel differently but that is my view on the subject.

Thanks man, great advice. I just connected my LinkedIn with my Flippa account, so I'm sure that'll help a bit.
I think I'm also going to look at the recently sold sites, and see what they are doing. I mean, obviously if the sites are selling, they are doing something right.

Exactly, if they are successfully selling, learn from them.
Don't forget to see what additional sales features they are using ... $19 gets you a pitch, but are they also spending money on bold listing text/boxed listing/featured listing etc?
Good luck with your sale dude, let us know how it goes.

Re: Flipping my first site. Should I try to get some feedback first?
I have heard of many bhw members and others on other sites using a "broker" (someone that has a great reputation on getting you the most $$$ for a small fee) that has a lot of experience selling on flippa and also having many offline clients seeking nice paying sites like your MNS... Just a thought...Never gone through it myself though...or not yet..
